OT - bulldog

Oh where to begin... We have 2 English Bulldogs. They are the love of my life. My husband jokes that I love them more than I love him. Our first bully is now 3. He is a super calm fun loving bulldog. He has never had any health problems. He can get wild and he is pretty athletic(for a bulldog). Our other bulldog is his brother from a different litter. He is 2. He is the most adorable dog in the world and is full of personality. He however has seen the vet way too many times. We had to take him to a specialty animal hospital for a lung surgery. I have to make his dog food from organic meat and veggies. He is high maintenance. He is worth every penny we have had to spend on him. My bulldogs weigh 50 and 60 lbs. I think you have to be prepared for them to be expensive. It is worth it to buy them the best quality dog food. We do not have any skin issues and really no issues with farting or slobbering. I do not think you could find a better dog, but I don't know if it's a good breed for someone who has never had a dog or someone who is not going to have the financial resources to get them the care they need.

Thank you everyone for sharing. I think a bulldog is going to have to wait until we have more discretionary income. But, they do sound like wonderful dogs!

Just a thought...has anyone gotten the pet insurance for their bulldog (I'm thinking right when you get the puppy)? Or do they price it so high or exempt bulldogs from all their possible medical issues?
