OT: Budget & Pet Friendly, Florida Getaway

We are a family of 3 (DH, DS(13), & I). We also have a mini-doberman. DH is rarely off on Fri. & Sat., but he is this weekend. Also, DS doesn't start back to school until Mon. The holidays were crazy & we had very little family time. I would love to get away this weekend for some family bonding time. It doesn't need to be a location where we are constantly on the go. We recently sold our RV, because we never had time to use it. I really miss the bonding time. Does anyone have any suggestions for a pet friendly, quick family getaway in Florida? We live in Tampa, which is a good location for travelling to most anywhere in the state. I would like to do it on a reasonable budget, because we have 2 longer trips planned between now & April. All suggestions will be greatly appreciate.

We like to do weekend trips to Sanibel Island. There are a few places that take pets. We like to book a cottage right on the gulf and pets are allowed on Sanibel beaches. Lots of good restaurants and quaint shops, too.

Also, there are a lot of places in Key West that accept pets.

Thanks for the suggestions. We've never been to Sanibel Island, but have heard it's beautiful. I had no idea they allowed pets on the beach. I'll definitely look into going there.

I had already checked KW. We love it there. Unfortunately, everywhere we would be interested in staying is already full or $300 + per night. Not exactly budget friendly right after Christmas.

We have stayed at quite a few places in Sanibel that are pet friendly and are on the beach. They are all very nice - not 4 star - but cozy beach cottage type places.
