OT - Baby Shower question/vent

If you don't want to take out your frustrations on the new baby, I would wait until after the baby is born and then send a congrats card with whatever gift you choose..

Three showers? Come on! I can see why it would aggravate you..

I would send a nice card with a handwritten "best wishes" note and leave it at that. It's absolutely appropriate etiquette wise to not send a gift for a third baby shower, and lets them know you are courteous enough to at least respond, even though they are not.

As a PP said, after the baby is born, you might choose to send a gift for the baby, but I wouldn't do so for this shower.

ETA: It is acceptable for a bride to take up to a year to send wedding thank yous. I think it's ridiculous, but technically acceptable.

That one-year thing is only because it is acceptable to send a wedding gift any time during the first year of marraige...thank you notes should always be sent as soon as the gift is received so the the gift-giver knows it got there.

i dont get y people think they should get more then one shower! This makes me kinda mad and jelous all at the same time

In my family we only get 1 shower with the first baby. If u happen to have another baby YEARS later, like 10+ years after ur last then maybe my family would give another shower.

I can kinda see their point. i had my 1st baby alll my aunts and cousins got me my stroller, swing, highchair etc. y 2 years later should they be expected to give me those things again?

My sil registered for all 3 of her kids and even threw herself her 3rd shower! The invites were sent from her. She did all the decorating and organized the whole thing.

If i were u i would send a small gift and a nice card when the baby is born. Good Luck

Youhave every right to feel the way you do, but you still should send a card. I wouldn't send a gift but I would send a card (I wouldn't even put money or a gift card in it).
