OT: AT&T Users

Just a PSA to all those out there with AT&T cell phones since I know there are quite a few on this board. They announced a change to texting plans staring today. All unlimited texting plans now include unlimited mobile to any mobile calling. You have to proactively ask for the change, so make sure you go online, call in, or go in to a store and ask them to change your unlimited texting plan to include mobile to any mobile calling.

There is one bit of fine print, you have to be on a minimum of 450 min individual plan or 700 min family plan to get it.

I just switched mine over and lowered my minute plan down because I know 98% of the calls I make are to other cell phones. Hope this saves you money like it did for me!

Is that the smell of desperation as they anticipate the exodus to Verizon now that they have the Jesus phone too?

I'll be taking advantage of T-Mobile's attempt at customer retention tomorrow when I go get my free MyTouch 4G.

Maybe its different for family plans but I checked online and this is the message on our account:

Note: All the wireless numbers in the current FamilyTalk group will need to be changed to the new FamilyTalk plan.

And it was already changed to the unlimited mobile-to-mobile without my doing anything. I agree with Frank. I was actually hoping with the competition that tethering prices would come down. Maybe later.

The system was having some problems with older family plans. Give it a few days and try again. As fa as tethering, the price didn't go down, but the plan does now include 4GB of data for $45. Change goes into effect Sunday and you don't have to do anything to get the extra data.

They will also send you a super-booster thing for your house. Normally a couple or a few hundred dollars, but now free. They sent me a letter asking me to accept one after I called to cancel my service.

They also were surprised that I've been dropping calls. They seem to have been unaware that their coverage was so poor. They'd like to help fix that now that they know.

Funny how a couple a years ago they didn't care at all and now they care so much.

All the free crap in the world won't help if the blessed phone doesn't work.
