Can I cry on your shoulder? I just washed a huge load of laundry and went to get it out of the dryer only to discover that apparently a PURPLE crayon had gone along for the journey. I don't think beating my head against the desk is going to get the crayon out, but that's all I can think to do. To quote Rabbit "Why do these things always happen to me? Why, oh why, oh why?" :faint: :furious: :worried: :scared1:

YIKES :scared1: !

There is some stuff that we use called De-Solv-It that gets out grease, oil & wax that works pretty good. Also there are Stain Devils that I believe have a formula for crayons.

Good luck!!!!!!

Okay, I've tried Tide and Baking Soda and then I tried washing with Borax! Anyone have any other ideas?

A couple of Dh's nice work shirts were in that load and he is going to be SO upset. He has class tonight so I have a little more time to try to get it out.

Thanks! I will have to try that. Where do you buy it? Target? Grocery Store? Online?

I have gotten them both from WalMart in the past, but lately have not seen DeSolvIt. Maybe you'd have better luck at Target.

I have used Grease Relief to get lipstick out of clothes after being washed and dried. It may work for you, too. I bought it at the grocery store in the laundry aisle. I believe it is a red bottle. Good luck!

Relatively easy!

I used Simple Green, which is an environmentally sound cleaner that can wash clothes, especially cloth diapers, BUT is also a great de-greaser that can be used on car tires!

I washed, a few times, the load of laundry that I did that to (they also went through the dryer, so if that didn't happen to you you're so lucky!), and all but I think one or two items still had grease marks. For those I did spot treatments, and DH (the one who remembered I used Simple Green) doesn't remember we had to toss any clothes.

Now, cleaning the dryer, THAT was a chore! :(

You only use a small amount per load of laundry, by the way.

I can easily find Simple Green in the tire/car care section of Target, and in various sections of various grocery stores...

This was totally on the Martha Stewart show today...they go through a step by step of how to get out crayon soiled laundry... Good luck and this is my 75th POST!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

OMG...this happened to me when I was doing last minute laundry the night before a trip to Disney-talk about stressful. The only thing I had in the house was that Dryel home dry cleaning solution (part of the kit) and I tried that. WOW...that stuff is AWESOME! It got out black and orange crayon from everything-even the white areas of clothes. Nobody ever knew we had a laundry mishap. I highly recommend it. I use that solution for all my stains now since I haven't found anything else to compare. Good luck and take heart that these things happen to the best of us! :flower3:

Don't know whether this works but someone wrote to a newspaper column several years ago and suggested it:

Put the clothes, dry, in the freezer. This makes the crayon wax brittle and then by flexing the fabric, most of the wax flakes off.

This happened to me, only it was green crayon in WHITES!!! Oxyclean got 99% of it out.
