Looking for any reviews anyone may have on RBC insurance. We have been with State Farm for years, but our renewal just came in and the increase is crazy. RBC has given us a great rate, but not sure how they rate as an insurance company.

Is the coverage you are getting for the quote with RBC exactly the same as the State Farm renewal?

I am with RBC and have not had any problems with them.
My rate did not change this year however I have decreased coverage with the change in insurance in Ontario.

$50.00 a month is a huge difference, I would check the coverages closely as that doesn't seem right.

No its right. We also got a quote for CAA and it was about $30 cheaper a month. When Dh contacted State Farm they told him that they used to give a discount for families that carry life insurance policies through them (which we have) but have recently done away with this discount.

We recently switched to RBC insurance when our insurance renewal came up last year. The rates were great plus I actually got better coverage with cheaper rates. I do get a further discount as I work for the school board but who knows how long that might last. The quote was great before the further discount but that made it almost impossible not to switch. I know several people that have dealt with them and they have had no problems.

I saw a Consumer Report special on TV on State Farm in the US and they said that they are now also basing a customers car insurance rate on their Credit score. Consumer report was brought about based on alot of customers complaining and State Farm advised they have every right to check into credit scores as they obtained signatures when people signed up for their insurance authorizing them to do this. As usual it was in the fine print. Maybe they are doing the same here in Canada.

I switch from State Farm 6 yrs now to RBC, they are a great company.
I have had two claims one for me one for my husband, both other drivers fault- around 2500 each.
and we still qualify for the 0 deductible special if you have no accidents your deductible goes down 50 each year.
:)

Hubby is a bank manager with RBC, and the rates are great! He used to be with TD, and not only are RBC's regular rates way cheaper, but staff rates are amazing!

We have premium insurance for house, cars and ring, and we are saving huge amounts of money with RBC.

They are the biggest bank in Canada, and do an incredible amount of business, so they can discount better. They are amazing to work with as well!

Thanks everyone. Good to hear people have had positive experiences. RBC is the best rate by far and now hears so many positive reviews I feel safe switching!

Their low rates and the new insurance coverage changes in Ontario this year was the reason for our switch to RBC. They made the process very easy.
