I know this is way off topic and really not Disney related, but do any of you watch Max and Ruby on Noggin with your kids? I watch it with my dd2 almost everyday. Do they have parents? I have never seen any adult other than the grandmother so who do they live with? Thanks much (this is driving me crazy).

My DS is now too old for Max and Ruby. When we did watch it there was always mention of the Mum being busy (I think with the baby? but could be wrong). They would go to Grandma's house or Grandma would come to thier house but you never saw the parents. I especially hated the episode when Ruby takes Max to get the "Dragon shirt".

I wondered this too. MY DD has loved it for ages and there does not seem to be any parents at all. There is never a mention of them anyway! Strange
Lx

When my DS was little, this show always lulled him to sleep for his afternoon nap. I LOVED IT! :rotfl:

I have noticed that too...it puzzles me. I am also puzzled about the lack of a dad on Toy Story. Is she just a single mom or is dad just never around? These are things that keep me awake at night :happytv:

DS watches it daily. I've never hear mention of parents. Just grandma... where are their parents? so far no answers.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I can't count the number of times I've thought to myself "Where is their darn mother?!!??":rotfl2:
Apparently it's all up to Ruby.. poor kid.:lmao:

I was wondering the same thing! And I always find it fascinating that Ruby never gets mad at that trouble-maker :rotfl2: "Oh, Max..."

Glad to know I'm not alone too! "Where is the Mother?" :confused3 :rotfl2: DD is 2 and loves that show...I don't really get it but it seems a lot of the little ones really like it.

DS LOVES this show. DH and I always get irritated at how patient Ruby is with Max - you know a REAL sister would be yelling at him. And we do always wonder where the mother is. Ruby does everything. I told DH that the parents are probably too busy "doing what rabbits do" to be parents :rotfl2:

We have even borrowed books in the library hoping we would finally see mom or dad. Nope, just grandma! I quess Ruby is raising Max!

My daughter loves Max and RUby and owns every dvd they have available. No they do not have parents.Grandma is the adult figure as well as bunny scout leader and shop owners.I know I thought it was strange too.

OK, most kids cartoons don't have parents...
max & ruby, Charlie & Lola, backyardigans, the kids on dragontales, Dora's parents let her go to outer space and sailing the ocean alone, darby's is running all over the Hundred Acre woods alone...its a shame! They should park their kids in front of the TV! :happytv:

i can't stand Max and Ruby. My very intelligent, fully functional 5 year old watches that show and then starts barking one word demands at me. So max gets limited time in our house!

I read somewhere that kids "adapt" to the shows better when the kids are involved doing adult things. Drives me bananas. I can't stand Max and Ruby, but my three year old would watch them all day if I let her.

I have seen a family picture over the couch. there was a mom, dad, max, and ruby. It always drives me crazy too!

I was reading something about the show in a magazine or somewhere and they were saying that young kids like the show because although they MENTION the parents they never actually SHOW them. :confused3

It is kind of an odd show.

My DD does the same thing and it drives me nuts!! :sad2: Limited time at our house too for sure!

I asked my kids about it and they think that in the bunny world you don't always need a parent unless there is a fox around! They don't seem too concerned that CPS is going to show up and take them to a bunny foster home.

I say this as the oldest of 5....Max is actually always the one getting it right! Ruby makes a LOT of work for herself, looking for things that Max is telling her. Thinking right now of the "firetruck" episode. Ruby's always telling him "not now, Max!" when he's telling her where something is....

That makes me nutty even more than the no parents thing. :goodvibes

We watch Max & Ruby every single day.... several times a day.... I hate that show!!! As far as the mention of the mother being busy - are you sure your not thinking of Charlie & Lola? That show they talk about the mom and dad, but you never see them - Max & Ruby there is never any mention on them... and trust me.... I know!!! :happytv:
