OT: 2010 Olympics Ticket Lottery

Ugh, I'm bummed...we got NO tickets. I put in requests for seven events too. I guess I'll be trying to find something Friday morning. I gotta say I'm not too impressed with Vanoc on the lottery thing, we didn't get an email saying that we hadn't been allocated anything I had to go to the site and find it. Would it really have been so hard to send an email? Either way I'm still glad it's coming Expo was great for BC and I think this will be even better!!

Likewise, I went 0 for 4. going to try my luck Friday, but I am really bummed about this. You have to imagine, its going to be a mad dash when the gates open. good grief, its going to be mayhem

OK. Now I feel so lucky that I did get 2, even if it was not exactly what I wanted.

Keep me posted on Friday guys!! I am not going for any more, as this is a gift and I do not want to go overboard.

I am going to try as hard as I can for the men's hockey, or maybe the curling. I think I have found Canada's sched. not 100% but pretty close. I was saying on another forum that i think come Febuary 2009, 99.95% of the tickets will be gone. One one hand I am happy as I will be laid off and i need to pay down my credit cards and university, but going to the Olympics is once in a lifetime oppurtunity

I was allocated two tickets to the womens hockey bronze medal game. Think I may just have to see what I can get for them.

Woot! I got three hockey games One preliminary to take our son to, then we got two quarterfinals on the same day for me and dh to go to. I hope others had some luck today...although I HATE HATE HATE the virtual waiting room hahaha. I got booted out at the checkout phase and thought I was screwed but I just got an email saying my order went through! Now I need to shop for an apropriately gawdy and patriotic Canada shirt for the hockey game

I tried today and hemmed and hawed earlier....had a chance to get tickets for Canada-Switzerland men hockey tickets but decided against it, then went on just now and grabbed a ticket to men's curling during reading week. Really hope Canada is playing in that draw WOOT WOOT I"M GOING TO THE OLYMPICS (sorry for the caps all). Now I have to look at at air/and or bus and accomadations for one or two nights

Grats Curling was VERY affordable too. I am really glad they did the second round today, it seemed much less crazy than the last round.

We managed to get my aunts some tickets for the opening ceremonies today too so they were VERY excited tonight; although they owe me $3200 now haha. And that's why I didn't get any tickets for the opening ceremonies

If you don't mind my asking which prelim game did you get and what times are the QF games. I can do some research to tell who you may be seeing

I want to thank everybody for their help. I was able to get accomodations for a GREAT deal and they are in the heart of Vancouver (I was looking at flying into Victoria and take ferry from there to Vancouver before/after the events. cause was able to get hotel reservation there...long story) and i booked the flight through Air Miles, and my tickets are all ordered
