How long does it take to see the lights?

Here is my situation

sunday Dec. 18th

Possible Itenerary

3:30pm watch HollyDays Parade
4:30pm Fantasmic Package Dinner (booked already)
?
7pm Fantasmic Show

I figure 1 hour to 1.5 hour to eat at the most since it's buffet.
If we get in line to see the Osbourne Lights at 6pm will we make it to Fantasmic at 7pm?

If we cannot squeeze in Osbourne Lights between dinner and Fantasmic we have another night available for Disney Studios, so big deal for us.

Just wanted to know how long it takes to see the lights.

thanks,

If Fantasmic! starts at 7pm, i would leave much more time. First, it may take awhile to get through the Lights, and then you have to go all the way across the park and into the F! stadium. Depending on the crowd conditions, the stadium may already be full, or you may get a spot way off to the side, or in the standing area. I guess it depends on if you care what type of spot you get for the show. Myself, i like to be inside F! stadium at least an hour before showtime.

Edit: Didn't see you had the dinner package (which gets you a seat in the section to the far-right)...but i'd still save the Lights for another day :)

With Fantasmic Dinner Package you sit in a reserved section, but still you'll want to get there earlier than the Osborne Lights will allow. So I'd save them for another night and not try to cram the Lights into the same night as Fantasmic. The two are completely across the park from each other and a long walk.

I have the same situation and was wondering what I was going to do, too. I don't suppose we can see the lights after Fantasmic :confused3 .

This is when I feel old. . . we just went last year at this time of year and I can't remember what we did. But I know it was one of the following:

1) we went right at 6pm to Osbourne Lights and had time to get over to Fantasmic (we had the Fantasmic Dinner Package, too)
2) we went to the Osbourne Lights AFTER Fantasmic (they kept that part of the park open for Fantasmic audience members)

I know. . . what do you mean you can't remember??? :confused3 Maybe it's the fact that we've already hit 16 degrees here in WI and my brain is in hibernation mode, or maybe my brain is just packed full of early holiday cheer. . . but I can "remember" going to the lights before Fantasmic and I can "remember" talking about going to see the lights after Fantastmic with my in-laws (who were with us on that trip). :rolleyes2 If you're worried about my mind, how do you think I feel?

All I know is that we were able to see the lights (doing one of those two options) and we LOVED them. (My 2 DS's were even part of "Crazy Andy's" sidewalk skit. . . what a great memory. :goodvibes)

Well, I sorry if I didn't help -- I tried. Brrrr. . . did I mention that it's really cold here??? :crazy2: Guess it's time to haul out the blowdryer and give the ol' brain a thaw. . .

After the 7pm Fantasmic show is finished we will try to make it to the Osbourne Lights. If it's closed, no problem, like I mentioned we have another day. But it never hurts to try.

Last year we tried to see the Osbourne Lights after Fantasmic. We actually could have done it, but the line to get to the lights was *enormous*. We were all cold and tired and we just gave up on it and went back to our hotel. I know others have been able to accomplish this without trouble. I guess we just hit it on a bad night, but I still would recommend seeing the lights on a different night if you're able to do so.

What time do the lights go on? We are wondering the same thing...Osborne lights before or after F! We have the FDP.

I would say the average group might need 30-45 minutes to see the lights, maybe more, maybe less depending on how quickly (or slowly) you take everything in
