I understand that there will be a special viewing of the Osborne lights for AP holders on Friday, November 19th. Does anyone have any more info? Is it necessary to reserve in advance? Do they turn on the lights at the usual time (I believe 6:00 p.m.)?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

We went to one a few years ago. We didn't have to reserve in advance, just showed up with our AP's. They had hot chocolate set up and I believe cider and cookies.

Where did you get the information? We'll be there on that night, so I'd be very interested in finding out more. I gave up hope that we might see the Osbourne Lights, but maybe we'll get lucky afterall.

I do not see anything about this listed yet on the Disney website under Special Offers for Passholders.

I also saw this info-I think it was on the website someone from these boards has regarding MGM. Be aware that at the most recent AP Preview, they didn't allow AP holders to bring a guest. This is a departure from previous years. If you have an AP, but spouse doesn't, too bad-only you can go to the event. I understand it used to be different, one guest per passholder, but it got too crowded. Also, is the even scheduled for a Friday night or a Saturday? Or both? I specifically remember that when I went in 2002, I went on a Saturday. No ressies were necessary. I didn't get the word from Disney until about 3 weeks beforehand.

I have a question-- If the AP day is Fri. or Sat. does that mean Sunday could possibly be the "soft opening" for all guests?? Has anyone been at MGM on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and were able to see the Osborne Lights without an AP ? We were hoping to be able to see them on Sunday and don't have AP. I know for sure that in the past any visitor could see the lights on Monday, but I was wondering which day they actually let regular park goers attend. The official opening is not until later on Thanksgiving week but we have been lucky enough to catch them on Monday but we will be at MGM on Sunday this year and don't want to miss them!!

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Here's the link I originally saw, posted on another thread by QuickGold.

Unfortunately, this link is the complete sum total of my info, or I'd try to answer some of the other questions, too!

Cheers,
