Osborne Family Lights - do they preview/test?

Aloha,

We leave WDW at 6 am the day the Osborne thing starts. We've seen it before and loved it. I'm wondering if anyone knows if they do any preview/test nights before the actual opening night?

Yes, I know, just show up and see if they do. LOL! But it would be nice if someone knew and would share their knowledge. TIA

Would love the answer to that too, because, I also want to do the MVMCP. I want to see the lights too!

I wonder, if I went to MGM that day, and did the lights at 5:30 or 6:00 pm, how long would it take to see them and get over to the MK for the party?

They don't turn them on until it gets DARK.
What time is sunset on the days you are there?

Put in the location and date.

But assuming a 6pm "light 'em up" time, it could easily be 7:30-8:00pm before you were finally inside MK.

It would take under an hour to view the lights (if you didn't linger).
Fastest route from MGM to MK (using Disney transportation) is bus from MGM to Contemporary, then walk to MK.
Alternate is a cab using the same route (but not much faster, generally.)
If you take a bus from MGM to MK, it will terminate at TTC and then you'd take the express monorail to MK gate.
Actual DRIVE TIME would be 10-15 minutes, once you are underway.

Add to that the time spent waiting for the bus, and the 8 minute walk to MK -OR- the 12-18 minutes the total monorail wait/trip would take.
