Just FYI for those interested, as the topic of getting around Orlando on foot comes up here every so often.
The Sentinel is running a special report series on Orlando being the deadliest US city for pedestrians. It makes for very interesting reading. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/pedestrian-deaths-central-florida/
According to the incident map that they have posted as part of the story, the two worst roads are amazingly not in the tourist zones. They are Orange Blossom Trail and Colonial Drive (probably not incidentally, those are also two of the longest roads in the metro area.)
The Kirkman Road area near USIOA is probably the worst road for incidents within areas frequented by tourists.
