Watching NBC nightly news about airlines, airfare, etc. While they said gas prices and jet fuel prices are down significantly, don't expect better airfare prices. I did find it surprising they mentioned that those planning on flying to Orlando can expect some good deals. We don't have a trip planned any time soon, but for those who do, I hope this is true.

Just a thought about this. Almost always, when we arrive in Orlando, a good percentage of the people on the flight are obviously heading to WDW. Lots of little kids dragging Disney toys behind, wearing Disney outfits, Disney carry-ons, some even have mouse ears on. Pretty obvious. Add to that, that I've seen lots of posts here about how families are driving on their next trip because flying has become too expensive, then maybe, maybe, the airlines may offer an incentive to fill up the flights if they are indeed experiencing a decline in ridership. Who knows? :)

I've been watching airfares for late June/early July for our next trip and prices overall have remained stubbornly high for the past few months, however flights in/out of MCO do seem to be priced the best whereas in years past I've seen alternate airports like Tampa offer better fares.

I was browsing the Spirit air website and found non-stop flights from Baltimore to Vegas, $23 each way, flying midweek. I cant fill my gas tank for that.
