Yes, and that is exactly why we will NOT do the extention. We wont be getting any "value" out of the extra 15 years....don't plan to be alive then, so it doesn't make sense for us.

We also chose not to do it because the extra 15 years won't be a big value for us. I'm hoping to still be alive (not sure if DH is though

We bought in March 1992 or 93, so we will have gotten our value by the time our contract runs out.

If I remember correctly the original buy in was 240, then it went to 210 points and down from there. I bought into OKW through resale in 2000 @ $61. I bought 210 points from an original owner who had also banked 210 from the previous year. That vacation we booked the Grand Villa, and then we were hooked.

I could never afford today's prices!

My family bought at OKW in Dec. '91 at $51/point with a 230 minimum purchase required. We bought more than the minimum so we could enjoy a 2 BR at mid-peak season.

With the LPAP program giving us free passes for many years to the 3 theme parks in existence at the time, we have more than recouped our original investment many times over; even though the annual MF's are pretty high.

We absolutely love DVC and have never regretted the decision to join. I'm sure many original owners feel that way as well.

We bought in November 1995 or so. We got the free passes, we just made it on that. I think we closed in December, maybe January 1996. We were able to use the points on that November 1995 trip. We were at OKW on cash, after one night, we bought in and they converted it to a point trip.

We bought the then minimum of 150 points. We finally bought because the pass promotion was going to end, and that was worth quite a bit of $$. Added 50 more at BWV a few years later.

When Beach Club came up, we sold OKW/BWV for almost the same price we paid; bought BC with my Disneystore CM discount, it was a wash financially. But we had our 200 points at BC, where the family really wanted to stay.....
