Does anyone know if you could order off of a lunch menu at dinner? We will be on the DDP. We are going to the Concourse steakhouse and my husband would prefer to order a hamburger or chopped steak. Will he be able to do that? Also at Tony's Townsquare, he probably would like to order the baked ziti for dinner, but that is on the lunch menu. THANKS!

I can't imagine that it would be a problem. I could see them not wanting to give you something that was more $$$, but since you are on the dining plan and it is all pre=paid anyways, I cannot see it being a problem.

I did the opposite when we ate at Mama Melrose in November 2005.

We arrived there and my grandmother and I were really looking forward to the Chicken Parmesean. Well it wasn't on the menu at all, I guess I printed out the dinner menu to show her without even realizing it. We didn't see anything we were interested in and were about to leave, but we went ahead and asked the waitress if we could have the Chicken and the chef made it for us!

And it was sooo good!!

Interesting fact, funny story: My grandmother puts salt on EVERYTHING. She asked for salt before the food even came out, because she noticed it wasn't on the table. Well, the waitress told us that the chef MAKES the restaurant put away the salt when he is cooking because he thinks that the food shouldn't need it. He was right- it didn't!! But the chef came out asking why his food needed salt!! lol, not in a mean/arrogant way, just joking. She didn't even use it when she tasted the food!

There shouldn't be any problem, unless they don't have enough of the ingredients on-hand by dinner time, which is possible. The restaurants have limited storage, and get daily delivery from central stores.

Regardless of that, please keep in mind that in a few cases, restaurants charge a dinner price for a lunch item served at dinner.

I ordered off of the lunch menu (at dinner time) in the San Angel Inn - the server seemed a little confused and had to speak with the chef but they were able to accomodate - I also ordered a grilled cheese at the HDDR (I used to be a very picky eater :teeth: ) and they too had no problem whipping one up - I doubt you'll have a problem
