This time around we are paying OOP for meals. My DSS is a picky eater and does not eat much anyway due to his ADHD mess. Can he order off the kids menu at a TS or will he npt be able to due to age? If that is the case, can he get like a cheeseburger or some chicken nuggets a la carte when we go to WCC? Nothing on the adult menu appeals to him there. Thanks!

It depends. Some places allow it, while others enforce the 3-9 age policy.

From what I understand, most places will allow it, but be open to the possibility that they won't. If they will let him order off the kids menu, then yes he can order whatever he wants off that menu.

Disney is EXTREMELY accomodating with food issues. I'm sure they will let him order from the kids menu (and probably won't say a word about it.)

Once at Sanaa, one of my children did not like any of the kids meal options. He did not have any disability or allergy or any reason to do anything out of the ordinary for him. But they went to the store in the hotel and acquired an Uncrustable (PB&J sandwich) for him instead! They made it into a kids meal with sides. We certainly didn't expect that, nor would we have asked them to do anything like that. But WOW! How nice!

There is a post being discussed right now on the Restaurant board about not being able to order off of the kids menu at La Hacienda.

My 10 and 12 year olds ordered off the kids menu for most of our last trip. At first they was given an adult menu, but were easily accomodating when we asked for kids menus.

My parents sometimes ordered off the kid's menu and the only difference is that they made them pay for the drink or it wasn't included.

I do this sometimes with our picky 14 yr old. However, I always offer to pay "full price". We don't do very much table service, but we've never been refused. And ironically, they rarely have charged her more than the kids' meal price.
