Ordering Arrival Treats

Has anyone ordered the Disney Family Treat Tote from the Disney website for an arrival gift? If so, did you consider it worth the price?

Thanks.

I'll be interested to hear what others think - I've been seriously considering ordering that myself for our upcoming trip.

I ordered it for my parents back in 2010 so it might have changed since then. The bag was nice. But it was just filled with water, soda, chips, pretzels, cookies. So on one hand it is $$$$ for just getting some snack food you might not even like or eat. But on the other hand you get a nice bag and a surprise waiting in your room (if they other members of your party don't know about it - they will be so surprised!)

For my family, I did the small blue mickey cooler with the treats - I think that was worth it since I use it all the time at home and it's a "memento" from the trip. And my family was surprised to see something waiting when we got back from the park. They can't put it in your room until after you've checked in so we went off to the park after we arrived and came back later that night and there it was.

I think this trip I will do a kids themed one now that my son is old enough to know what's going on! It may be pricey but I think the surprise is awesome!

(Oh - I did all this through the Disney Florist website - is that the one you were talking about?)

this might be of topic but we have used Memories By Betsy 2 times. I told her what i wanted in the baskets and she shops at DTD - very easy and i think cheaper baskets than using Disney Florist or whatever. Once the baskets were in our room at arrival, the 2nd time they were at the front desk.

We received one as a gift back in 2012. It was very nice and I still have that bag and use it to bring stuff (toys, snacks, etc.) to our community pool in the summer. I think it was something that was a nice surprise to receive as a gift, but I'm not sure I would order one for my own family.

I would like to do something special for my daughter and her friend (young adults but very young at heart)...the gifts from Disney seem very expensive for what you get, so I plan on just taking them to the Marketplace at Beach Club and letting them pick out what they want (instead of doing "concierge" we will have our own in-room concierge. Still, that takes the element of surprise away, but they do get what they want, not what was preselected.
Any other ideas?

We've ordered it several times, the bag is nice and our name is embroidered on it but the quality of what it is packed with seems to have gone down over the years. The last time we arranged for it we pretty much agreed it was the last time.

We ordered the family treats tote in 2013 and it was very good (but also very pricey). We substituted many items in the bag. For example, I did not want any beverages (we were on DDP and had the mugs, so did not need bottled/canned drinks). I also only wanted 'Disney' themed snacks in the tote bag, so if it wasn't a Disney treat, I had it removed and added in other things. For example, I had 8 crispy mickey heads put into the bag. I also added 2 plush toys to the wrapped gift. The people at Disney Floral and Gifts will work with you to create what you want:-) I also ordered the blue Disney cooler bag one year- cuter and cheaper. Again though, I customized what I wanted in the bag.

We still use both of these bags often. The red tote bag is a 'cooler' in the bottom portion.

We've done Memories by Betsy. She was very good; however, she could not deliver food / treat items.

It's fun for a surprise for the kids!
