If I already have my MDE account set up with our room reservation and all the people in our travel party listed, when I go to order our MYW park tickets directly from Disney online, will they automatically be assigned to our individual Magic Bands? Or will they still mail me paper tickets and I have to manually assign them to each person in our travel party after I receive them in the mail? Just wondering how quickly I can make FP+ reservations once I order our park tickets online... assuming I'm within the 60 days.

TIA

You can order ticket a with the will call option. Then you can use your confirmation numbers to link each ticket to a person in MDE.

Just to keep things straight, there ARE no more "paper tickets" issued by WDW.

All hard-copy tickets issued by WDW are now plastic with internal RFID chips.
These tickets can be used at the park gates and FP+ readers just like MagicBands.

As was mentioned above, if you order "will call" no tickets will be sent to you by mail.

So if I order "will call" and get a confirm to link toa Magic Bands that get shipped to us, what am I actually picking up at check in? Cards that I keep in the safe in case there is a problem with the bands?

Yes... this question. :confused3

We did this in May. Made reservations and ordered tickets separately but both through Disney. Both our MBs and the tickets showed up on out MDE account. All I had to do was assign each ticket to a MB; never needed to have the actual tickets in hand. Not that it mattered; we never used the plastic card that were eventually mailed to us. It all works virtually, online.

So did you also select the "will call" option when you purchased your tickets? Or did you purchase them online with the assumption that the cards would eventually be mailed to you?

Had the cards mailed to us. Never opened the envelope though, they stayed in my 'Disney file' as a souvenir.

It's nice to have the cards in case the MDE site 'hiccups' and you need to enter the numbers on the back manually for the MBs.

Cant you just call Disney and have the tickets added to your reservation? :confused3

1. You may not actually ever pick up plastic tickets unless you go to
the resort concierge desk and request plastic hard copies of your tickets.
(You can ask at the check-in desk, if you like.)

2. That would be an option for the hard copy tickets, if you choose to pick them up.
(Although for the purposes of "back-up" for the MagicBands, I'd CARRY the plastic tickets
with me. That way, if the MB's glitched-out, you'd have your tickets at the ready.)
