Just an FYI, I was checking on the two orders I placed with the HOLIDAY code (pj's and baking book). Anyway, both orders showed I was going to charged the full price.

I called the CS number and they said that:

First, if anything the code could only be used once. Secondly, they said that the HOLIDAY code was not a public code to be used. Anyway, I had to cancel both of my orders.

I hope some of you all will get your orders. I just wanted to let you know. By the way, my confirmations did say Bal due of $6.44, but the CS rep said I would be charged the full price. I am glad I checked my orders. I would have been surprized with a charge of $42 vs. $12. :(

Hmmm... I just checked mine on the website. My discounted prices are still being reflected on my orders. I can't imagine they could get away with charging my credit card for more than the amount I approved. If they are not going to honor the discount, then they should just cancel the order.

I totally agree.

I have two orders and I want both but I do not want to pay %5.95 shipping on two separate orders if they are not going to let us have the discount.

I just checked my orders online and they still show the discounted prices. Has anyone else called to double check this?

Thanks for the heads up! I have print outs of my orders (just 2!) showing the discounted price. If they charge the full amount I'll dispute it with the cc company. This was before they starting saying you had to mail in the card.

My orders are showing up as discounted, so I'll just wait & see. I don't want to cancel them myself, in case it does go through ok.

Someone at Mycoupons called CS about this and they said all orders would be honored and charged what your agreed to amount was with the exception of Gift cards those orders were cancelled I beleive.

Just passing along what I read.

That is good to know, thanks for sharing :)

I can't imagine Disney would go through tons of bad press and cancel orders.

I just don't think that legally they can charge your card for more than you authorized. I suppose they can contact people by email and notify them of the problem and either cancel the order or give you a choice of whether to cancel or not. That does seem like a lot of trouble and bad press to boot. My cc says the charges should show up in 24-48 hrs so I'll just wait and see. Thanks for posting what you've heard.

Remember, Disney also will not charge your card until the item ships, so it may take more than 48 hours to hit your card.

There are postings on the Budget Board from people who contacted Disneystore.com CS. It appears that the orders placed using the HOLIDAY code will be kept in "limbo" until the card is received by Disney via snail mail. Only then will the order be released.

Oh, and Disney is not sending out emails to that effect. They will just wait for the customer to either calls regarding the shipment or cancel the order. Hmmmm...IMHO it just makes a bad customer service situation even worse!

As for me, the order can wait in the distribution center. I'm not calling them about it and I will not cancel it without some official phone call or email from Disney.

Just a note on charging more than you have authorized - on several (I'd guess 5 or 6) orders I have placed at Amazon.com over the last few months, they have charged me shipping when I should not have been charged. The total amount shown when I placed my order had no shipping charges, but when the order actually shipped, the charges had been added. I checked my credit card's website, and sure enough, the wrong amount was charged. Of course I called and wound up getting a credit, and things seem to have straightened out, but they had absolutely no problem charging my card more than the authorized sale.

I actually saw this code on a coupon site that said nothing at all about needing a gift card. I ordered or pre ordered Lilo and Stitch and the code was accepted and the total was $11.68.

I just called the Disney Store online to ask if this item was going to be shipped on the release date or if they will mail it earlier to receive it on the release date and the total they had was $27 and something cents. The cm said that the gift card would need to be mailed to them in order to receive the discount and that the total price was going to be charged when the item shipped. I told the CM I obtained the code on a coupon site therefore didn't have a card so I cancelled the order b/c I'm not paying $27 for Lilo and Stitch.

Like I said I saw this code on a coupon site and didn't know it was an error. I guess I just thought Disney was trying to hype up their sales going into the holiday season. I'm glad I called to find out the ship date other wise I would not have known about the code not being honored. Please make sure you check your orders, otherwise it sounds like they are going to charge full price for your order.

I have checked out a couple of other boards and a couple of people who ordered Friday have received shipping confirmations (with the higher amount) but when they check, they were actually charged the lower price.

that is exactly what I am going to do...it can just sit there waiting forever if they can not send me an email.

My order is showing Active whatever that means.

On the page listing my orders, they all show the discounted price. When I click on each order to see the status, they show "active" but list the full price of the item only - it does not reflect the shipping charges. Honestly, I think Disney should honor the discounts and chalk it up to bad promo design. If they choose to let my order sit there for an eternity, that's fine, too. At least I had fun shopping.

it shows original price in order tracking. But if you go to Order History and check there it will have your order number with the discounted price.

Tina I read that Disney will let these orders stand until Nov15 and then cancel them.

but with all the conflicting info who knows!

Try that and LUK

I just got an email with a tracking number on the shipment showing that they charged me full price. I honestly didn't know that the code was hinky (and I only used it once) and am furious that I wasn't contacted. I told them I'll refuse delivery and expect to have the entire amount including shipping credited to my cc.

I've read several posts from people who have had the same thing happen. According to responses they got, it seems the email shows the full price without discount, but if you check your charge card the discount seems to be there. This is all rumor of course, but what else do we have to go on? Did you actually speak to someone at disneystore.com and confirm that they were going to charge you the full price? You might want to check your cc and see if they actually did.
