As mentioned in another post, I am starting to plan for a Feb 2007 trip (Yay!). My 5 year old is more excited about picking oranges than seeing Mickey, lol (weird kid!).
Anyway, I saw the U-pick site and it looks really close by and exactly what we want.
Has anyone been there before? The site doesn't list prices, I was hoping for a general figure of what it costs to pick the oranges and maybe even to do the eco-tour ride?
Thanks!

Danielle

Hiya,

I don't have any advice, but could you post the site? I thought they were pretty much done with letting people pick their own.

Thanks!

I think I'm too new to post links? I'll try though :)
From what it looks like you can pick your own.

(didn't work)

just google "Showcase of Citrus" and it should give you the addy.
I haven't posted here enough to get to give out a link, lol. They want to make sure I'm not a spammer I think!

Looks cool! I don't see any info on prices...has anyone been there or know about how much this little excursion is likely to cost?

Thanks! pixiedust:

Was just there on 2/24. For a large bag it was $12.00 for oranges, tangerines and grapefruits. Lemons and limes were 1.00 per pound. There is fresh squeezed oj for 6.00 a gallon that is a steal for fresh squeezed. We had a blast.

It's about 10 miles from the AKL, so adjust upward from other WDW resorts. Due to congestion, plan on up to 20 minutes from the AKL.

That sounds like a fun, unique idea. I'm going to have to remember this for our next trip.

You do have to have a certain number of posts before you can link to url's. This was put in place to stop spammers and trolls.

Oh, I totally get it Kilee! I just wanted to make sure the other poster knew I wasn't trying to keep all the good info to myself, lol.

I was reading threads here for the last week, but I didn't actually register until today. But I can see why there would be a minimum number of posts before people can post url's. I'm on another boards (nonDis) and we see see our fair share of spammers there too.

I so have to go to this place. This is exactly hte kind of stuff that we are into.
Does anyone know how much the extra excursion costs? It looks like some sort of drive through a swamp or something??
The price was not listed onthe web site and I cou'ldn't find an emal address for questions?

thanks

It was very expensive for the swamp buggey ride. I think it was like 20.00 per up to 80.00 for the full car I think. We did not do it, it seemed a little steep.

Thanks for posting this, we are staying right down the road beginning March 12, sounds like a fun thing to do on a non-Disney day, and we can enjoy it while we're there!

We were there a couple of weeks ago and decided not to pick our own as the rain had started but we did buy some of the "bestest" tasting oranges we've ever had! Also bought some freshly squeezed o-juice that was out of this world! :thumbsup2

If anyone is heading there shortly please let me know if the the little farm kitty has had her babies yet?
