Orange Groves / Quiet Beaches

We will be making the trip to Florida from BC Canada and would love to take the kids for a tour through an orange field. We wold also like to visit a quiet beach. Any ideas?

When is your trip planned? If it is over the summer you will not see any orange trees with fruit on them. They are a fall, winter, early spring crop. If you want to see a grove of trees, I would suggest Showcase of Citrus out on Rt 27. Its not too far from WDW from Rt 192. You can do a google search on them. As far a beaches, Im not that familiar.I like the west coast better,but we had a nice time in Cocoa Beach this winter. Just about and hour away.Good luck and enjoy your trip! Grammy

Here is another choice if you plan on going when it is in season. We go quite often the OJ is to die for you have to try it.

Would there be oranges on the trees in Early Dec? Or is that out of season as well?

Florida's Natural Visitor Center, Lake Wales, Fl. THey have a cool movie, museum, free sample, gift shop and grove of different kinds of oranges. There were tons of oranges in January, so I'm betting you'll see some in December. But DON't even think about picking one - it's against the law, in Florida!
