Options for packing a lunch for excursion

Huh, strange! I thought for sure I had read somewhere that you could take packed lunches from room service. Oh well, guess we'll be eating a big breakfast!

You probably did read somewhere that people took sandwiches off the ship. I read it quite a few times in my preparations for our cruise. Unfortunately, just because someone on DIS or a random blog did it, got away with it or suggested it does not mean that it is legal. Our DD has severe allergies so I worked with DCL prior to our cruise to figure out which ports I could take which items on to land with us. They were great and gave me lots of advice. I know for sure that no port allowed fresh fruit or home made items. Prepackaged was definitely the way to go. We traveled with canned tuna, canned chicken, popcorn, fruit snacks, jerky, individual pringles chips packages etc. Once an item is opened on land, it cannot be brought back on the ship either.
