Options for new AP family

We're looking at two, maybe three, trips in 2011 so we purchased and just received our AP vouchers. To save some $ would valid options be:

1. Watch for a future AP room discount and purchase the dining plan.
2. Watch for Free Dining and buy a two day ticket for each family member to get the dining. (and save the tix for future use)
3. Watch for Free Dining for AP holders.
4. Can we book now to make dining reservations and switch to a discount rate if it comes up?
5. Something else???

Would a room discount be applicable for #2? (I'm guessing we'd probably have to pay rack room rate)

Has #3 ever been offered?

For #4, do ADRs start at 180 days out?
