Opposite of the must do's each trip- which restaurants @ WDW would you not return to?

We have never eaten at Disney and thought a restaurant was gross, but....

There are a few that I have not been that crazy about, for example--
Boma and then there are Planet Hollywood & Rainforest Cafe-- way overpriced for nothing special..

Boma - was a beautiful restaurant and the desserts were quite good, but it didn't live up to the expectations I had after reading raving reviews on Dis.

Crystal Palace - food wasn't that great but the restaurant was beautiful.

for us we don't care to return to

Mama Melrose's because 1 we couldn't read the menu! and 2 for what we paid we didn't get much food.

Liberty Tree ( for dinner) because I can make premade store bought side dishes right here.

ABC Commissary in the Disney Studios - just gross
Sci Fi Dine-in Theatre - also gross, but awesome atmosphere (kids love it)
Planet Hollywood - gross
Rainforest Cafe - gross

oh... I completely agree with the ABC Commissary... I forgot that one. We could not believe how bad the food was!

Mama Melrose dinner, Chef Mickeys dinner, 1900 Park Faire breakfast and Spoodles breakfast, they were terrible!

ABC Commisary

Marakeesh -- my meal was fine -- DH had nothing but trouble -- culminating with hair in his food -- server had to be reminded 3 times to bring our drinks ... so on and so on

Prime Time: great for 1 time but not too impressed overall

Mama Melrose's: TOOOOOOOO LOOOOONG -- almost missed Fantasmic

Chef Mickeys: character interaction good -but food was blah --- too crowded -- we kept being bumped by other diners. Not their fault -- tables were too close together -- also IMHO, no atmosphere.

BOMA (Dinner--to unusual for us)

Chef Mickey (dinner--Smelly fish--kids running wild and touching everything on the buffet--gross)

Garden Grill (Lunch--if the only meat you eat is Seafood--like me--the catfish was cooked like chicken fried steak (yuck--if you didn't know that it was catfish--you would have never figured it out--not good) Also the veggies tasted like school food.

50s Prime Time--Was not in the mood to Pretend like I'm related to people I never meet.
I also could not eat everything on my plate--and made to feel bad because of it (sure to gain weight
if you do the portions were big).

I also agree with H & V.....

We went for dinner last summer and although I thought the food was ok it made me pretty sick! The only TS in WDW that had that effect on me..otherwise I love WDW food!! So we won't be going back there again....it's too bad b/c DH loved it! :confused3

Planet Hollywood! Over priced, tables too close together, out of our party of 4, no-one really liked their food - and we all had different dishes!:sad1:

My picks for not going back to include:

Mama Melrose: bad service and even worse food

Planet Hollywood: too crowded, overpriced, and poor service

Tony's Town Square: Bad food, service was excellant(might try again someday, but that someday is a long way away)

Crystal Palace: This use to be a favorite but the last 2 times we ate there we had major problems w/ the service(lack of refills, took our drink order and did not see her again until she brought the bill) and the food was not that good anymore(lacked flavor)

Maya Grill : Awful service, blah food
Yak & Yeti: Food is just an overall letdown.

Sassagoula Floatworks at POFQ -- I might stay at POFQ again, and I might even be forced to eat there in an emergency, but the best thing I had there our entire stay was a grilled cheese...which is a pretty hard thing to mess up. I feel sorry for anyone who eats those beignets and thinks that's what good beignets taste like. It HAS been 3 years since we last stayed there though, so hopefully they've improved.

Brown Derby -- this was the same trip as the POFQ, and I know will surprise some people. Hopefully we just experienced a fluke, but for the $$ we don't really want to risk it. The hostess actually rolled her eyes and sighed tragically when we walked in and asked if there was any lunch availability (remember when you could do that and usually get a table? ;) ). She said "yes, but you'll have to wait a while." Ok, no prob. Five minutes later our buzzer went off and the dining room stayed practically empty the whole meal. Our server was slow, slow as molasses, always staring off into space while we were talking to him. And when we finally got our food, our medium steaks were chewy and rubbery -- sort of the quality you get when you go to the local grocery store and steaks are on sale for $4.99/lb? Here's the worst part: we didn't like the grapefruit cake. I know, I know! We must be big weirdo's, but both of us were waiting for the "big experience" everyone else seems to have while eating it, but both thought it tasted like a good rendition of a white cake.

We had a pretty good lunch at Le Chefs, but my goodness were the tables close together, and it was so loud!! I'm not sure how my pooh-sized rear made it through the place without landing in someone's coffee.

And I will say this -- if Casey's has truly gone to all wheat buns, I can just forget eating there! Blech! ;)

Here are the ones we will not be going back to:

Planet Hollywood
Biergarten
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Sci Fi
ABC Commissary

Cap'n Yaks at Downtown Disney

ABC Commissary

Hollywood and Vine

We've tried the Commissary on several trips because of the lack of decent CS options at DHS, but the other two were bad enough that we will not be coming back. :sad2:

I would not go back to Contemporary Steakhouse (I know it's shutting but we weren't impressed.)
I also would not go near the fish n chips at Epcot (UK) again either, it was the worst meal we have had in the states anywhere! Chippies in the UK would shut down if they served food like that - rubber fish and greasy chips :sad2:

Ohana Breakfast and Dinner: mediocre food, uneven to poor service, the appeal escapes me.

WCC: It was o.k, but not worth a return trip. The antics wore thin pretty quickly and the food wasn't special enough to put up with them again.

Cinderella's Royal Table- the food was not tasty at all. I usually don't complain about prices but, IMO, this was too much money for such an undistinguished meal.
