I'm trying to figure out if the dining plan would be worth it for our family trip. We are going over Thanksgiving week (11/20 - 11/25), so the dining plan won't be free then, I'm sure. The plan is to hit the parks early, go back to the hotel for some rest and relaxation, then hit dinner and the evening shows at night. We have ADR's for HDDR, Mickey's BYBQ, Chef Mickey's, CRT, Donald's Breakfastosaurus, LTT, and Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic package. According to my calculations (and please correct me if I'm wrong) - if we purchased the dining plan we would have a total of 25 TS credits since we would be purchasing 5 day hoppers. I applied these credits to the most expensive dinners on the schedule, but most of those require 2 TS credits per person. The HDDR would take 10 credits (there are 2 adults and 3 kids) as would the BYBQ. This eats up 20 credits. I took the 5 credits left and applied them to the next most expensive meal which was Chef Mickey's. The rest of our ADR's would have to be paid for out of pocket. So, here's my math: Dining plan for 2 adults, 3 kids = $490.65 (including tax). Add on to that the cost of paying for CRT, Breakfastosaurus, LTT, and H & V and the grand total comes to $821.65. If we would choose not to buy the dining plan and just pay for everything out of pocket, then I'm coming up with a total of $756.55. Now, I know the dining plan also includes CS for lunches and also snacks, but we're staying Concierge so instead of buying lunch at the parks, we could just go back to the hotel and grab some stuff there plus we could keep some grocery store stuff in the fridge. What do you think? To me it just doesn't seem like the dining plan would be worth it for us. Or I could be totally off the mark. My math skills were never really that great.
