Opinions Please...What Would You Do? THANK YOU ON POST #28

I would go off the pill and try to ovulate at Disney :) If you are ovulating at WDW you won't have your period - you'll have a great fertile week. And you can name your baby Mickey or Orlando or Polynesian (LOL, j/k).

I'd buy stuff, I did when I was pregnant the first time and it made my life a whole lot easier once the baby showed up. I was prepared! Good luck with your trying.

As someone who did about 5 years worth of unsuccessful infertility treatment, including several IVFs, I wouldn't.

I was young, healthy and in good shape to get pregnant too. And I just didn't...or when I did, I miscarried early on.

And nobody ever figured out why. And more than one doctor from more than one infertility practice in more than one area of the country looked at my case. And some of them were pretty big-name people in the world of infertility treatment too. And they all came back with the same response "We see no reason why you shoud not be able to get pregnant".

And I was glad that I didn't have a lot of baby stuff hanging around that I bought in anticipation of the event.

Wrtie down the lot number & the name of the store where you saw the item, of whatever of stuff that you see that is cute and you can always call Disney later to have it sent to you. There is a phone number that gives you access to all the merchandise sold in every store on WDW property.

OK, I'll be the odd ball. I went off the pill in July of 2004 (I got the "all clear", as well). I went to WDW in September of 2004. I bought some cute things for my future baby.

I recently cut them all up and tossed them out when I miscarried my twins after IVF #2. I couldn't stand to look at the stuff during IVF #3.

You will have plenty of time to buy stuff....even if it's not directly from WDW, you will be able to find loads of cute Disney baby stuff when you're pregnant.

I am SO sorry. :grouphug:

No, I wouldn't buy anything. My son was stillborn and I had to return everything. Seeing his things was heartbreaking. There is no guarantee you'll get pregnant, let alone quickly. If you really like something, as others have said, call Disney merchandising when you are pregnant.

I wouldn't, either, and I'm kind of in your situation, too. DH and I have talked about trying to start a family early next year (after our December Disney trip-- potentially our last one without kids!)

Relatives have been trying to get me to take some old baby toys off their hands in "anticipation" of my having my own children, but I keep refusing them because I think it would be very sad to have a kiddie slide sitting in the spare room if I end up having a hard time conceiving.

Same with clothes. Maybe I'm superstitious on some level, but I wouldn't want to risk it.

I wouldn't buy partly because of superstition and partly because with a new baby you get so so so much stuff that you won't need it all.
I would wait.

No one in our family will buy anything until the expectant mother is passed her first trimester. Superstitious yes but when you hit the three month mark it's great fun for us to buy cute little things for the mom to be.

Yet another perspective, but what if you buy one super-sentimental item and then get pregnant with more than one? :rolleyes1 Having also gone through years of fertility treatments, I think I'd buy stuff for dh and myself on the upcoming trip and then buy stuff for "baby" or "babies" when they had their first trip. That would be more meaningful for me personally. Enjoy your trip and good luck on getting pg!

I want to thank you all for your input. At this point i don't know what we'll do. i guess we'll decide when we get there. in the meantime, i am going to enjoy planning our trip, enjoy the trip and then start trying to have a baby...i am very very excited!!! can't wait!!! :thumbsup2
