Just getting ready to call for PS and need some opinions. What do you think of any or all of the following restaurants:

Chef Mickey's (breakfast)

Le Cellier (lunch)

Whispering Canyon Cafe

Boma

Planet Hollywood

There will be two adults and two children, aged 3 and 5. I really want to make sure all have something my kids will eat as well. Thanks so much!!:smooth:

Chef Mickey's breakfast is lots of fun.

Whispering canyon is one of our faves for breakfast, but also loads of fun for dinner, Be sure to ask for ketchup.

Have heard good things about Le Cellier, but never eaten there. Same for Boma.

Skip Planet Hollywood with small kids. We ate there once and they were running scenes from horror movies. If your looking for someplace specifically at DD, do the rainforest cafe. its much more fun for kids.

I'm not a big Planet Hollywood fan either (the one in London was way over-hyped), BUT I've read great reviews of the DTD one.

I'm with Stacy--do the RainForest Cafe :)

Chef Mickey's is supposed to be AWESOME

Chef Mickey's (breakfast)

Although this restaurant has quite a following, hubby and I were underwhelmed

Le Cellier (lunch)

Haven't been there.

Whispering Canyon Cafe

FUN with lots of down home style food. Quite good.

Boma

EXCELLENT! Not to be missed! I eat anything and everything, Hubby is decidedly Meat and Potatoes yet we both loved it.

Planet Hollywood

I would skip this one. VERY loud. Food was OK, but nothing to remember. "PS" was a mangled mess. Tables are very close together. Did I mention it is LOUD? Music video clips play the entire time and I found a couple to be a bit racey for MY tastes, but then I don't watch MTV....

Your children would probably rather go to RFC. We have eaten there 3-4 times. The food is just OK-good, portions are HUGE, but the service has been pathetic. Still probably worth a try for the youngsters.

I third the skip Planet Hollywood, the food is not great. Rainforest Cafe is nicer, but my 5 yr old DD got really scared with the rain storm noises and the monkeys!

LeCellier is excellent. It quickly became one of our must-dos after they remodeled it and changed the menu. There was a time we wouldn't eat at the Planet Hollywood after a disastrous dining experience but gave it another shot a couple years ago and were delightfully surprised at the improvement of the food. It is very, very noisy but otherwise a nice dining experience. You might also give the House of Blues a shot. We've always had great lunches there.

PH is on our MUST NOT DO list. It should be on yours.

Thank you so much for all your input!!! :) I think we'll take PH off our list. It doesn't sound like somewhere I want to take my scared-of-the-dark-and-loud-noises-3 year old.

Keep those opinions coming! If you can recommend anywhere else nice for the kids, I'd love to hear it! Still looking for a couple of places in downtown. Thank for your help!! :smooth:

Chef Mickey's Breakfast is an absolute Disney must as far as we're concerned. Your kids will LOVE it.
Very good character interaction....they will be greeted by Goofy in a chef outfit when they walk in...and he stays in the lobby area the whole time. Plus, they'll get characters at the table.
The food is pretty good....lots to choose from....pancakes, eggs, all good. The atmosphere is terrific.
We've done Whispering Canyon twice....first time loved it, second time liked it...wasn't quite as in the mood for all the noise. But I would recommend it for your kids. It's noisy and raucous....and during dinner, they have a kind of dance line of kids going around the restaurant on those wooden-stick horses. Fun stuff......and the Wilderness Lodge lobby is an experience by itself. Try to set aside some time to walk around and check everything out...it is breath-taking. We usually take the elevator up to one of the higher floors and sit down in one of the little sitting areas overlooking the lobby...it is a sight you'll never forget.
As for Ohanas, we are going for the first time with our three kids next month...we hear it's great! Same for Bomas...first experience this coming trip.
Have fun!

We've never been to WDW, but plan to go soon with our 3 and 5 yr olds :)

The ones at MGM that sound like fun are the Prime Time Cafe and the Sci-Fi Cafe--I've already made ressies for the Sci-Fi one for us. I've got a PS for the Fantasmic package at Hollywood & Vine there--not terribly excited about doing a buffet with two little kids but H&V was the least expensive of the three restaurants offered. I'm REALLY hoping they'll change the restaurants to include either Prime Time or SciFi by the time we go :) :) :)

Let's see--I've also made a PS for the EpCot Ice-Cream Social

For a low-key lunch (without PS's) we're planning on Columbia Harbor House at MK and maybe Pinnochio's too.

I'd love to do RFC at AK, but the menu looks incredibly expensive. Maybe we'll do vouchers there--if not we'll definitely do a dessert in the afternoon.

If we had more in our budget I'd love to include Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace as well--both sound like AWESOME character meals with great food.

There's always McDonalds at DTD. Of course, you can do that anywhere, but the kids seem to be ecstatic about it anytime. Go figure. It's next to the Lego Imagination place where my boys spent a solid hour.

Skip Planet Hollywood, unless you want lousy service and so-so food for an inflated price.

I thnk that Chef Mickey's has gone downhill in the past few years. I would skip it.
I also agree about planet hollywood too.

The others are good.
Have you given consideration to any others to dine at? Such as 1900 park faire or CP?
