What is your opinion of the pack n play that is provided in the Villas/Resorts? Are they nice? Or should we just bring our own? It will be for our 1 year old, debating on wether or not we should 1) bring our own 2) rent a full size crib 3) just use the one provided. TIA!!

They are fine. Not "nice" per se, but a typical Pack N Play. Disney provides cute sheets with Mickey on them, but those are a little worn so we brought our own (our youngest has now outgrown Pack N Plays). We also brought a better mattress -- the ones that come with the Pack N Play are so hard! -- but we drive, so I don't know whether that's an option for you.

Have fun!

Thanks! Yeah, I was assuming they were just "adequate" nothing fancy... we are driving, so bringing our own is an option! I have to pad ours, so I know a pack n play isn't super comfortable anyway... I feel it were just a couple nights, no big deal.... but for 7 nights, I want her to sleep good! Lol

I was wondering the same thing! I think you can also request a roll away crib which may be a bit more comfortable. That's my plan. I saw a you tube video of the BLT villas and it showed a roll away crib and the pack n play.

I decided to rent a crib for my 18 month old for our upcoming trip. We used the pack n play as his crib until he was about 5 months old and he was fine, but at 33 inches and 30 lbs, I really don't think he'd be comfortable in it for 5 nights straight at this point. We are already spending an arm and a leg on the trip, I figured an extra $80 for my son's comfort wasn't too much.

What company are you renting through?

The pack and plays are fine, just a little worn. Knowing most mattresses are hard, I brought extra blankets to cushion the bottom of it (put them underneath the fitted sheet). That is something I would normally do anyway and it worked out this time too. It's nice to not have to lug it around and/or have the added expense of renting.

I like your idea about using blankets under the fitted sheet to cushion the mattress. I'll use that trick if my daughter still fits in the Pack n' Play during our trip this September. Thanks!

Most of the DVC resorts do not provide a crib, only the pack and play.

I agree with the poster who said they are basic but they work. I used one with my 13-month old and he was totally fine. Remember they will be super tired from the parks!!! You know your kid best, but we brought my son's Starfish projector and his blanket and he was A-OK the whole time.

The pack and play at Poly Villas last year was practically brand new, but just a plain one. I agree with having extra padding of some sort and your own sheet. The one we had provided was super cute with chip and dale, but a little worn. Getting a replacement when we had an accident (blowout!) was no problem.

The pack and plays I've received at AoA and SSR have been standard Graco models. The sheets are cute (we got baby Mickeys) and clean but do look used and washed many times, which I'm sure they are! These have worked well for our purposes and I wouldn't find it necessary to bring your own pack n play. I do recommend bringing an extra sheet just because we also had an accident on ours (although it was a large amount of spit up, not a blowout), and it took about 30-40 minutes for the replacement to come. I wished I had brought a spare so I could have cleaned up and gotten DS back to sleep faster. After that I always pack a spare (but haven't had to use it since).

Was just curious for a 19 month old about 25 pounds would you use a day bed with the bed rail???? or a pack and play???? We get there on Friday was just curious which you felt is better

My son will be 18 months and about 30 lbs. when we go next weekend. He has only ever slept in a crib and I, personally, don't feel comfortable putting him in a bed yet. The pack n play just doesn't look like it would be comfortable for a kid his size for so many nights. That's why I have a crib rental lined up for him. I think he will be most comfortable that way. Each kid is different though. If you've got your kid in a toddler bed at home, the day bed with rails should be fine. I know my niece and nephew both started sleeping in toddler beds at 18 months. I just don't think mine is ready for that yet.

Is there a maximum height for the pack and plays? I think the kind I have at home said 35 inches.

We requested a crib(roughly the same size of a pack n play) at AKL and Poly the last couple years, and our daughter slept really well in it. We will be at the Poly again in December and will definitely be requesting a crib again for our youngest daughter who will be 11 months. The Poly also provides rails for a regular bed for those wanting to use one for their toddlers...i could be wrong, but I believe only the deluxe resorts have the cribs

Last year at BLT we had a 3 mo old and a 7 mo old (my niece), I had requested 2 cribs/pack and plays (we would have been fine with either), and when we got there, there was only the 1 PnP in that unit when we arrived, I called and requested additional bedding and they sent up a nice full sized crib! The PnP was fine, and we put my baby in it, and she slept fine.
