Thinking about joining, They have a good deal for today. Anyone using it and what do you think? I am 70 years old and need to lose about 15 lbs.

love it. You answer questions and that picks your zero point foods. Besides the original points program this one is my favorite I also like Barrett Pastor on youtube she explains things great her facebook page is Living Life on Track.

I preferred the old programmes better (2017) when they started with the 0 points, and then basically a 'pick your own progamme', a lot of the people of my group got confused.
But if you join now, you are not burdened with that ;-)

I would say just try it. Weight watchers works for a lot of people, but also not for many people. You have to see if you can make it work for your life.

i did the 'fat and fiber' program back in the '90-super easy to do which i why i think they may have gotten rid of it (people quickly dropped weight then dropped out of weight watchers to save $$$). ww kind of bad mouthed it but everyone i knew who tried it (myself included) did great on it.

p.s.-used bookstores and thrift shops are a spectacular resource for weight watchers cookbooks!

I agree I lost about 70 pounds on that version. But the key for me was an “at work” group. It was fabulous but impossible to replicate once the group dissolved. I like their online resources now but I can’t seem to stick with their new programs. Carbs “cost” too much, and I need carbs.

There is a constant stream of TV ads for weight watching. Apparently a big money maker for some companies. Seems like most of them are in the 'watch what you eat/eat less & exercise more' categories. Not sure you need to pay for a service to do that.

I lost 80 pounds on WW and have been maintaining on my own for the past three years. I just rejoined since I still want to lost that last 10-15. I really like the new Personal Points plan. You answer a series of questions about what you like to eat to determine which foods will be zero points for you. Some people end up with zero point avocado or potatoes. Mine are brown rice and grains, oatmeal, poultry and eggs. Everyone gets zero point fruits and vegetables. You will get a set number of point to use on other other foods based on your weight and other factors. You can earn more points by drinking water, eating vegetables and exercising. I've been through a few different WW programs and I really like the structure of Personal Points.

I really like WW but unfortunately, it's not the best option for me right now. I have a lot of dietary restrictions because of my IBS that complicate things. I may eventually try to go back to it.

I recently signed up and looked over the new points system. I've been able to use WW to jump start myself into good habits in the past. If I lie and tell it I am not diabetic, the points options are reasonable. If I admit I'm diabetic, the points and options become very limited. I found it to be limited enough to simply feel incredibly unpleasant, unmotivating and overwhelming. I cancelled and had my $ refunded. Not for me.
