Best summer week to WDW

Hi all, I’m planning for a family trip for summer 2026 with two kids (will be age 8 and 5 next summer). School finishes after memorial weekend. Is there any week after memorial weekend till mi-July might be less crowded? Thank you!

I think the earlier you can go the better. Our kids used to finish school mid June and we went right away and it wasn’t too bad.

The days around the 4th of July typically have low crowd levels. Next year the 4th is on a Saturday and I would suspect that entire weekend would see lower than normal crowds.
If you check the annual passholder blackout dates for the summer months you will be able to see which periods of time will have fewer passholders attending.
If you can deal with the heat I’ve found that the summertime crowd levels are manageable.

I agree the earlier the better, as you go on into June, more and more schools end classes. We're in school until at least June 18th next year.

Schools in the northeast get out tbd the end of June, so as early in May as possible.

Thank you! I just looked the annual pass admission calendar. Looks like sorcerer and up level doesn’t have blackout for that week, but pirate and pixie dust do. What do you guys think about Juneteenth week? Juneteenth will be Friday next year.

It shouldn’t be too bad that week in terms of crowds early. Late Friday is a different story.

I agree that going earliest you can is best. We liked May/June. July/August feels a lot more humid.

I’m wondering if next July 4th will be different than most since it’s the 250th? No idea what Disney would have planned but just something to consider.

I also see somewhere there might be more people because of World Cup =(. I hope it will not haha and hope Disney will still have ticket sales like this year and last year. Looking kids school calendar many times, still feel early summer is the best fit for schedule. Will try next year and hope everyone will like it.

In my experience, May through early June are much lighter in attendance. We went Memorial Day weekend this year, only did HS after hours and Disney Springs. It was busy but, not packed. For example, when getting snacks and lunch, no significant waits. We were able to get dining reservations at Boma and Ohana even after the 60 day mark. It looks like summers are lighter overall as well.
