Opinions on Fulton's Crab House at DD

Opinions wanted.....My daughter will be going to Orlando for a business trip in a couple of weeks. She said that they will be eating one night at Fulton's Crab House at DD. She mentioned to the organizer that we will be visited DD soon. Now the organizer wants us to check it out and let her know our opinion. Oh no....I'm not good at this...I'm very easy to please when it comes to food and service. So...I thought I would try the boards! Let me know what your experiences have been with Fulton's!

We love Fulton's..this next trip (11 days from now...yeah!) we are actuallly going to the Portobello Yatch Club instead.....but next trip in October with 7 family members in tow....going to Fulton's! Love the food there, but you will get different opinions on these boards, that's why there are so many restaurants to choose from...different food likes and dislikes....along with different tolerances to waiting an extra minute or two, thinking that you'll be out of a restaurant in time to see a show, parade, etc......and it taking time to get seated, served, eat, and pay the bill....so you really need to go there yourselves and check it out!

Love it! You will read reviews about mediocre food and poor service, fortunately that has never happened to us. We love shellfish so Fulton's is one of our favorite restaraunts!

The King Crab claws were so delicious! In fact the food was all very nice and perfect to how we'd ask for things to be prepared. The service was a bit rushed for our taste and at the end, left us with feeling like we wouldn't come back.

We were on the dining plan and 15% tip was included except for alcohol. We knew this, but had been tipping (with cash) for extra good service and adding on the tip on the wine we'd ordered at all the nice restaurants. The server at Fultons' had prepared two separate cheques for us, not unexpected, but he had figured the tip on the wine for us at 20% and expected that it be paid for by credit card (or room key as we were charging things this way). I tried three times to have him take it off of the cheque explaining we preferred to tip with cash (who doesn't like cash?!!!) And finally DH had to go downstairs and find the manager to settle it out. After a really great meal, we left feeling like the server thought we'd run out without paying the bill!

We've eaten there twice over the course of a few years and we loved it both times. Excellent food, professional servers, and only waited just a few minutes with our priority seating reservations. We sent our in-laws there too when they visited, and they gave it two thumbs up as well.

I've read the negative reviews but never saw or experienced any indication of any problems when we've dined there.

The boy and I were there for dinner before we saw La Nouba during our last trip there (Sept 2004). It turned out to be one of our best meals of the trip! We absolutely LOVED the calamari - it was simply the best calamari we ever had. Our waiter said that they soaked the calamari strips in buttermilk overnight. Whatever they did to them, they were DELICIOUS! The rest of the meal was very good as well. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and our waiter was prompt and courteous. We had an excellent meal and great service - we'd definitely go back!
