I have always stayed away from Alamo in the past due to all of the bad reports they receive here on the boards. From reading threads on the continuing lowering of rental prices people are getting from Alamo lately, though, made me book a ressie for Dec. with them. It would be a savings of $40 over what I have at Dollar (that I've used and have been happy with before). Can those of you who are using Alamo between now and Dec. please post your experiences? I'm curious to see if their service has improved any.

Thanks!

I'd like to know too.

Also - Is Alamo right across the street from the terminal, or is that Dollar? I can never keep those two seperate (same with National and Enterprise).

In my experience, they are no better or worse than Dollar. I prefer going with National (Alamo's sister company) bcs their service I have found superior. But for $40 I'd put up with Alamo.

I usually book National, too. But Alamo was so much cheaper (nearly $100) for our December trip I couldn't justify not trying them. I know I'll have to do the counter vs. Emerald Aisle...but other than than, how is their service?

In August I had booked a full-size car using National's Emerald Reserve. We flew Spirit. When we got to the National section, there were NO full size cars. The attendant told us to walk over to Alamo and pick out a full-size. We chose a Chevy Malibu. Nice car, and no problem checking out at the booth with my emerald reserve reservation. Service coming back was very good. No problems.

Shoes,

So, if I understand you correctly, Alamo is right there at the terminal, with National, Budget and L&M? We don't have to get on a shuttle??

Thanks,
Mrs. PB

Alamo is in the terminal, it was added a while ago when National/Alamo were acquired by the same parent company.

Yes, alamo is in the airport terminal. You check in downstairs in the airport, then walk across the street to the parking garage and take the elevator up to the alamo section. We used them last year, had no problems, but will be using dollar in a couple of weeks since their price seems to be the best.
