So, ladies

Not curtsey - Unless I am at the gym class - does the count :)

Bow (tilt my head down) my head slightly - I do once in a while. I think I have done it when I am really thankful for something - really, really appreciate something from someone when it is totally unexpected/surprised. Sometimes the elderly. I put my hands together (as in prayer) or my right hand/fist to my heart as I slightly bow my head.

I will also bow when acknowledging someone, a bit away from me, saying hello wether it's a stranger walking by (another way of saying good morning, etc.).

Do men curtsey or bow? I am curious now also if you do/why women?

What? We fought a whole war to get past that nonsense.

Well, Neo is British I believe....

It's hard to imagine a situation where I would need to bow, but I suppose I could find myself meeting King Charles, or perhaps in a formal Japanese setting - seems like a long-shot though! Since women these days can wear more than dresses, I would imagine that either would be acceptible.

I'd bow if it was a social norm or expected. I'd imagine it's much more common where Neapolitan Ice Cream lives as well, which might be why the question was asked.

Maybe a curtsey or bow at the end of a stage performance but never beyond that...unless the unthinkable happens and I get to mingle with some royalty.

As a man, I still bow to a woman from time to time. Always to someone I know and it’s done in a generally playful way but still out of respect. It’s rare that I get a curtsy back.

I guess if I met our King I would but I don't see that happening!

ETA - OP have you ever seen any of the RF in your travels

It's one of those odd protocol things. Tradiitionally, women cutresyed. I was curious as to how old hat that was in modern society. The choice between curtsying and bowing doesn't really phase me. It's in the same vein as horse riding - ladies traditionally rode different to gentlemen, but I believe that is pretty much a dead practice these days. Never been in a situation where I had to bow or curtsey to anyone!

I used to be able to perform a deep curtsy, but now, with my arthritic knees, I wouldn't be able to do it. Heck, I have trouble genuflecting before getting into the pew at church. I just bow my head now so I don't embarrass myself by wobbling like a Weeble! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

On the rare occasion I need to do a stage bow, it's definitely a bow. I remember learning a curtsy as a kid in the 60's, but only in the this is the way kings and queens etc. would do it way. We thought it was fun.
