Has anyone ate at the Trails End Buffet at the WL?
The prices look really reasonable . Is the food good?

thanks
Sharon

Although I have never been to the Trails End Buffet, I have heard it is very good.

However, if you go looking for it at the Wilderness Lodge, you will be disappointed. It is located at the Fort Wilderness Campground.

The restaurants at the WL are:
Artist's Point--- only open for dinner, expensive
Whispering Canyon--- open for all meals, sort of expensive, and loud.
Roaring Forks-- counter service, open from 7 am until 11 pm.

Hope this helps~!:)

We love the Trail's End!! It's a quick boat ride over from the Magic Kingdom and they're open for all three meals!

You can make an evening out of it at FW! Head over to the Trail's End for an early dinner, then spend some time afterwards in the petting farm and exploring the Trading Posts. Then, you can spend the evening at the Campfire Program where they have a big campfire where you can roast marshmallows and visit with Chip & Dale and join in a singalong! After that, they show a full-length Disney movie on the outdoor screen. It's all free for WDW resort guests!

I think I read once that they also have a carry out buffet meal. Anyone know about this? There will be 5 of us and I can only eat a few ounces at a time and think this would be perfect for our family. I think you pay one price and are given a to go container and can fill it with items from the buffet bar. I just checked Deb's site but there was no mention of it.

I believe what you are looking for is on the mousesavers.com website.

The info on the to go menu is on Debs site. just go to where the menu info is and it is at the very bottom.

I think we may check this one out on our visit. Prices are just to reasonable to pass up. Also we have never been to WL/Campground at all. Might just check out the lodge while we are there as well.

Does anyone know if they have signs or something pointing you in the right direction from the boat launch area when you arrive from the MK?
Thanks

I don't know if they have signs but if you follow the crowd up towards the buildings you will find it easily. It is right beside Pioneer Hall where the HDD show is located.

You realize that they are in 2 seperate places? Right? If you are going to do both go to the Wilderness Lodge first and take the boat to the campground...then you will be right there where you want to eat, and you won't need to get on a bus that can loop you around the campground...then when you are done with dinner you can take the boat back to WL. That's what I would do. Other posters may have a better way, but it has worked for me like this in the past.

i realize they are two seperate place but i thought that FT wilderness shared WL pool. I thought they were ajoining property

Hi -
We wound up at Trail's End Buffet last fall when we were in WDW for MMSSHP. We drove over from POR for the Haunted Hayride and took the bus to Pioneer Hall. Tix for the next hayride were sold our, we bought for the later one, and stayed to eat. After comparing the menu from the "fast food" option, I decided it was well worth it to do the buffet.
It was great - super-friendly staff, more intimate setting than other buffets, different food offerings my kids loved and the best bread pudding in the world - even asked for and got the recipe. MMMM... and not as expensive as the character buffets.
My kids adored it over there - lots to do and wander around. The Haunted Hayride was the BEST!!! So worth the trip!!!
Hope this helps!!! Emjoy!!

No, Ft Wilderness has 2 heated pools and a wading pool of their own. The pools at WL are for the guests staying there (there are 2 and a wading pool there, as well)... and the main one is usually packed! The Lodge and the Campground operate as separate entities and use of the pools are exclusive to the guests staying at each.
