We are going to Disneyworld for the first time on our honeymoon in feb. Yes I know what in the world we have never been to disney. I have been debating and debating on whether or not to do CRT and which of them is the better one to do. I have noticed people saying the price has went up a lot, and from judging what is offered for breakfast and the other meal services there it does seem a tad pricey for pre plate. Some people seem to think it's not worth it since the price has went up and that the food is not real good I hate to go and have bad food. Since it's our honeymoon he is saying don't worry about the price (price is not a huge deal sinced this is special honeymoon and birthday) and do it, but I have seen others like 1900, and storybook that others have said is wonderful as well. I could use all the tips I can get about this since I have been told I better jump fast when it's time. Also if you folks have any opinions on other things like CP, 1900, BOMA, CM, LTT CHAR DINNER, SCI-FI THIS JUST LOOKS FUN, PRIMETIME, and for the life of me I know there were others but can't think of them right off the top of my head lol. I am just trying to get prepared to jump once the start of my bookings become avail for adr's. Since this is also our honeymoon and I want more than anything for this to be a magical experience, and also my birthday during this time which df claims I should have notified the hotel that it is also my birthday guess I still can. I just want everything to be magical. Thanks in advance. :bride:

Well... When I was a little girl CRT was called King Stefan's banquet and I never got to eat up there (we tried, but couldn't get in, etc), so last Christmas I made it a priority. I can honestly say that being in the castle is one of the most fabulous dining experiences I have ever had. This was right before the changeover, so I can't attest to the food or if it's worth the money now, but it definitely was then. If you want magic, I don't think you can go wrong in the castle.

Crystal Palace was good - and feels a lot like Chef Mickey's, so I would just pick one of the two if you are considering both. They are both fun, American style food, and very Disney. I liked Boma a lot, but I went to school in a big city and am used to a lot more different foods than my family. My dad wasn't as into it. Look at the menu and the food porn thread to see if you get excited about the food. If you don't eat at the AKL I would still go visit, check out the animals on the savanna and grab some zebra domes at the Mara. They are totally worth it.

By the way, it was my dad's birthday last trip, and I would suggest you notify the hotel as well as the restaurant you want to celebrate at. ;)

Personal opinion here....every princess needs to eat in the castle once in her life. For that purpose alone, I'd do it.

Having done it several times, it isn't worth the $ to go back. The food isn't bad, but it isn't worth the price. It is all about the atmosphere.

YOur paying for eating in the CAstle IMHO. That is worth it at least once! The better meal I think, again JMHO here, is breakfast. Its hard to go wrong with breakfast food. We had lunch there and I thought the food was not good. We have had breakfast and I liked the food much better.

We have done Park Fare, and Norway, and nothing beats the castle. :goodvibes

we went on July 7th for breakfast. It was a great experience to eat in the castle. Your child gets a wand or sword, as well as a wishing star that lights up. The picture is a nice package for memories and nicely presented. The food is typical breakfast, athough the adult french toast was great. THe actual characters in the dining room were all friendly, and you will get lots of pictures. One further plus for my group was that we reserved in 2005, and thus paid only one credit.

All that being said, I would not do it again, as two credits is too much. In fact, of all the two credit meals I had (YC, Cali, Cinder, HDDR) only HDDR will be a repeat, as you dont gain much for the extra credit at the others.

So long story short, go for the experience of eating in the castle.

But like others have said eat breakfast! Breakfast is the best meal of the three, and ask for Tina...she is a wonderful server! :thumbsup2

My opinion - the high cost of CRT is more for the photo package you have to pay for - not a choice - so if you look at it from the standpoint of pictures, and having your special day recorded with Cindy - it is well worth the price - one honeymoon - eat in the castle!

I think breakfast is amazing if you get the 8am ressie on a non emh park day - you are let in the park early and walking around an empty park to the Castle, take your time, take pictures - awesome.

Look at the menus at allearsnet.com for the meals, and what do you like? I think it is pricey for a breakfast.. keep in mind that the dinner is not a "character meal, but a character "show" - They have the Fairy Godmother say a few words, the mice Suzy and Perla run thru ( too fast for pics its been reported no autographs) Lunch is a Princess autograph/picture meal!

So I'd vote for Lunch for your honeymoon, have them note it on your ressie and then when you check in ask for a window view, be willing to wait, remind them its your honeymoon - and enjoy!!

Eat in the castle! I went to WDW in December for my 40th birthday and had lunch in the castle on my birthday. You can't get any better than that! It's your honeymoon and birthday, so I say go for it! :thumbsup2
