My family is wondering if Nine Dragons at the China pavilion or Teppan Ido or Tokyo Dining are worth a try on our next visit.

For those that have eaten at Nine Dragons, I would like comments comparing this meal to any good local Chinese restaurants found near and in most cities.

For those that have eaten at the Japan pavillion, how does it differ from a Benihana-esque steak house.

Thanks in advance for details of your dining experiences.

9 Dragons is good - but we like Tepan edo better - it's more entertaining....

We've been to Teppan Edo (previously Teppanyaki) over 20 times through the years and it's still something we look forward to. We also ate lunch at Nine Dragons earlier this month and we were pleasantly surprised. We will return to both.

Teppan Edo is SO GOOD!! Yummmmm...!! The servers are Very friendly too!!

I've eaten at the CS place in China and it was pretty good...not amazing, but good. I can't remember the name of it so I wasn't sure if it was one you were asking about. Lol

Nine Dragons is pretty standard local Chinese fare. Not fabulous, but not too bad. We really enjoy Teppan Edo; again, pretty standard, but it's a fun evening.

Nine Dragons is ok at best. It's about the same as a middle of the road Chinese Restaurant at home. And Teppan Edo is just as bad as a Benihana. I find most of the food at WDW to be very enjoyable but these I can get alot better at home. Very disappointing.

DH and I ate at Teppan Edo in 2007. It was good, but our local Japanese restaurant is better. With all of the dining options at WDW, I would rather eat somewhere else and wait to have Japanese when I get home.

Dh and I had a great meal at Yak & Yeti

We have dined at TeppanEdo many times and always liked it

Yakitori House, ick, all dark meat fatty chicken

Sunshine Seasons Asian stand, DH enjoyed it

Lotus Blossom CS in China is very good, love the egg rolls and shrimp fried rice

We had the most disgusting meal every at Nine Dragons earlier this month, full review and pics in my June link...the taste was horrid and they had to comp the entire meal for us. To top it off, DH was sick as a dog, he ate most of it and I was ill (but not as bad) all night....no way could you get me to go back there..now I know why there are always open tables and reservations at ND!

We found Teppan Edo (dined in Dec 2006) to be somewhat entertaining but not good food. I really wanted to like it!
We had a very good experience at Tokyo Dining - nice atmosphere, quiet, very attentive & friendly service, inventive food presentation, better than average - but not stellar - food.

I think both are about the same quality as a good chinese or japanese restaurant at home. I think Tokyo Dining is probably better than either, but again, about as good as a good Japanese restaurant in most cities.

That said, most places in epcot aren't as good or only about as good as a decent restaurant in most cities (la cellier, coral reef, chefs de france, biergarten, merrakesh, san angel inn), imho.
