We are going to Downtown Disney on Sunday, Dec 2, with an 8:30 pm rez at T-Rex - we will have a rental car - should we take the car or use the buses? Is it hard to park? Do you have to wait a long time for the bus? I should add that we are staying at the Coronado Springs.

It really depends on where you are coming from.

Wait forget that I think its always quicker to drive. No one has every posted that the bus transportation was close to adequate. Parking at DTD is like parking at any shopping mall.

If you have patience and time just take the bus,if you want to get there quicker take the car,it's that simple. The buses could come in a minute or you may have to wait 20+ minutes. The drive over to DTD from Coronado is 5-10 minutes, real easy. You'll have a harder time finding parking spaces by the Marketplace,so it'll be easier to find one around West Side or Pleasure Island.

It is always quicker to drive to DTD. But, something to keep in mind...it can get crowded in the parking lots there on weekends. So, if you plan to drive over, just for that 8:30 ADR, you may want to leave plenty of time to find a parking spot...or be prepared to walk a bit.
If you take the bus, plan on about 40 mins total time.

Though we never have a car at our disposal, we've seen the parking lot for DTD in the many trips over there and it's huge.....can be full and really tough to get a spot....also there are no trams in the lot so you park and walk....then turn around and try to find your car and leave.....

The bus is so easy, pick you up and drop you off right in the village...what could be easier.....beats riding around the lot looking for a spot and walking....it's all up to you but we like the buses....

As others have said, the car will be quicker, but you have to park it, and then walk to T-Rex. The bus takes longer to drive there, and you have to wait for a DTD bus at the resort, and for your resort bus to come along at DTD.

Since my family and I always have our car with us we like driving to Downtown Disney, because we can get there in 10 - 15 minutes if were coming from the Boardwalk Inn. Plus in the past we have experienced long waits both going there and coming back on the Bus, however for whatever reason they are not the best for the Deluxe Resorts and I can't say what the wait is like for the Coronado Springs Buses.

I always drive and park on the end near Pleasure Island. Never had a problem getting a spot there.

Drive, unless you plan on drinking a few adult drinks. Parking lot looks packed. Check all the way over by Cirque.

Is that true?

It depends on what you mean by adequate. A PP said it's about a 5-10 minute drive. You could wait 20-30 minutes (sometimes more). The bus might stop at TL. Figure an hour for the bus vs 10 minutes by car.

You could get lucky, immediately board a departing bus and get to DTD in 15 minutes. You might not be as lucky for your return.

Is that true?
Well...all I can say is that I was totally amazed the first time I drove from BW to DTD. It was usually a 40 min proposition if using the buses...long wait, then the tediously long ride to DTD. So, when I drove, imagine my surprise when it took me about 10 mins to get there!! Now, when I take the buses, I just sit there and fume....knowing how short the distance actually is.

And I won't go into the wait times for buses at DTD.

Um, Dec 2 is a Friday. Did you mean Dec 4th?

Ok, good. Thanks, wasn't sure if was ever.
