We are planning our 1st wdw trip next year. We have 7 days at bcv. My kids are not really into characters. Buzz & woody being the exception. I am thinking that touring the parks & being there for the1st time will be enough excitement. Kids ages 16,15,11,6,3. No princesses:) will we miss anything by skipping character meals?

If your family isnt into the characters I say skip the character meals..the food isnt good at them anyways (except for a few breakfasts)

With the kids not being into characters, I would say no. It is a good, relaxing way to get character interaction, but, unless you get free dining, I think they are a little pricey for the food you get. Just my opinion.

Since your kids are not into characters I would agree and say pass on them. The only exceptions I can think of would be if you have picky eaters than the buffets at a couple of the character meals might be worth it. We like have a buffet at Magic Kingdom (Crystal Palace) or heading over to Contemporary for a dinner buffet at Chef Mickey.

I agree - skip the meals if they aren't all that into the characters. And the big mealtime characters are Mickey, Pluto, the princesses, Donald and a few others.

If your kids are more into Buzz and Woody, they'd probably have more fun just doing the character greet in HS. :)

I agree skip them, if they aren't into them now, going might change all that and you're stuck doing them forever, LOL
Actually I'd do them either way if it was me, cause I'm into them ;)

Pizza Planet for those Buzz fans :)

save your money and skip the character meals....
but be sure to catch the pixar parade at 3:00 at DHS.....

also, if they're buzz/woody fans, you should join in the "move it, shake it" street party at the magic kingdom (several times each day)..
they'll have the opportunity to dance with woody in the street!!
most people completely ignore this parade/street party, but it's super fun!!!
i kept telling my kids we had to see it and we finally managed to catch it on our last day.....the kids LOVED it!!!
