Hi everyone. We will be making our first family trip to WDW this coming Thanksgiving (we check in the Friday before Thanksgiving and check out the Saturday after)
My 180 day mark will be coming up next month and I am working on my ADR's. We are a family of four, mom, dad, DS8 and DD6, staying at the WL and will be on the dining plan.
Here is what I have planned for restaurants, I would love people's opinion:
day 1 (AK day) dinner at Boma
day 2 (MK day) dinner at Chef Mickeys
day 3 (MGM day) dinner at Sci Fi (decided to do this and wait in line for Fantasmic, rather than one of the Fantasmic packages, because we want to eat at Sci Fi)
day 4 (Epcot day) dinner at Coral Reef
day 5 (free day) breakfast at CRT (just me and dd, will pay oop) dinner at Beaches and Cream
day 6 (MK day) breakfast at CP, dinner at WCC
day 7 (AK day and Thanksgiving) dinner at Hoop De Doo (will pay oop)
day 8 (free day) dinner at Le Cellier
I was looking for a good mix of restaurants for food and ones for atmosphere, and also some that would please the kids and some that would please the adults.
We are planning on doing CS for lunches, and either using snack credits for breakfast, or already having stuff in the room.
The restaurants I am iffy with are Boma and Sci Fi.
We want to do Sci Fi, but am not sure if it is worth passing up on the Fantasmic package to do it. That is a busy week, but we are doing it the Sunday before Thanksgiving, so I was thinking it might not be as crowded as later on in the week. I figured I could sit and hold our spot in line for an hour or so, while DH and the kids go do something.
And Boma. We basically picked it because we are doing the AK that day (our first day) and it will be convenient. I want to get to bed early that night, so I thought, we leave AK at 5, go to AKL and eat at 5:30, then we could be back to the room and hopefully in bed by 9:00 at the latest (that includes unpacking and baths for the kids). Plus it gives us a chance to see the AKL. But we are not adventurous eaters. We aren't terribly picky, but I'm a little nervous. Is the food there really different? My biggest worry is I would hate for our first TS meal to be a bummer. I figure we can always just fill up on zebra domes
Anyway, sorry for the long post. I would love to hear people's opinions.
