Operation Big Thunder: the Dole Whip Conspiracy COMPLETE

I see a few other possibilities. Here's the full list:

--maybe we did see animals in the morning.
--maybe we had something different for breakfast.
--maybe the lines at Rope Drop were worse than I described.
--maybe not everyone liked Mission: Space.
--maybe I didn't actually drink any Beverly.
--maybe I did try the Beverly, but convinced someone else to do it with me.
--maybe we did give away the fast passes.
--maybe someone else road Soarin' again.
--maybe we did ride Journey Into Imagination, since it's such a wonderfully imaginative ride.

Ok, sorry, I can't say that last one with a straight face. But the other ones are possibilities.

So, is this the official list...and I should change my answer since it's not on here?

Just when I think you can't possibly get any dumber, you go and do something like this.

Dumb and Dumber

(did someone already get that?)

Maybe you LIKE Beverly

Well, I'm sure there are people out there who like brussels sprouts, too. But, no.

But you got to see me, and have Lou's for dinner, and..... oh, nevermind.
:rotfl2:

Like I said, you either find something you love, or you have a great story. :rotfl2:

Oh, don't you start, too.

Song of the South

+1:thumbsup2

Actually…
I double-checked that one and what Williams really said was:

"I can't believe it, I'm losing to a rug!"

Don’t know if that’s close enough, but the line certainly reminded me of Robin Williams doing his Dangerfield impression as the Genie in Aladdin

+1:thumbsup2 You're absolutely right. I was going for that quote but was too lazy to look it up. My bad.

Life does that to all of us from time to time…
I appreciate the thought though.
:goodvibes

Life seems to do it more to some than to others. But you can't choose your circumstances, only your attitude towards them.

Yes… yes it does.
But the mission you gave me was to save a Pop Tart.
Short of that requirement I’d have started with one of Tamara’s scratch brownies and then begun adding ice cream and such.
:thumbsup2

Ooh, that sounds really good. I'll take 2.

Yah… that about sums it up pretty well. :faint:

Hummmm…
And here I thought I caught sight of a few hints along the way.
Those must just have been additional obfuscation.

Sneeky. :tiptoe:

And maybe there were a couple of hints in there... :rolleyes1

Ok, here's something I thought about when I read the update, but your last "clues" kind of made it come to mind again.

You kept the extra FP's and you and Sarah actually rode another time while Julie and the boys were on Living with the Land.

Edit: nevermind, I guess that one is already taken. Back to the drawing board...

So in a quick regard to how strong our friendship is...

We actually went to elementary school together and then didn't see each other for 10 years or so... but we have been hanging out again for 10 years so yeah! I figure if he is gonna make my life tough (which he is...lots of strong personalities in his family and everyone wants what THEY want!) that I might as well get some fun out of the situation...So Beverly it is!

A friendship that can survive Beverly is a strong friendship indeed.

Am I, am I, I think I am! Post 800!

Edited to add: Now that that's out of the way, I have to say I really enjoy this report, even though my work hours necessitate my being hours too late to grab any of the movie references. Oh, well, there's always the weekends!

Thanks! I'm glad you're reading along. And congratulations on snagging the highly coveted 800th post!:thumbsup2

So, is this the official list...and I should change my answer since it's not on here?

What was your guess again? (scanning)

Oh, right, that Sarah and I used the extra fast passes ourselves. Well, sure, I guess that's a possibility too. One I wish I had thought of. :headache:

Dumb and Dumber

(did someone already get that?)

+1:thumbsup2

Nope...
I wasn't paying attention at the time so that one's all yours

Oddly, that's one film I've never seen much of.
Just couldn't sit through it.

 :faint:

It probably says a lot about me, but I love that movie. It never fails to crack me up.

That was Glenn's guess, too. You guys are allowed to guess the same thing, you know. After all, there's only one right answer.

But in this case, as I alluded to above, we didn't have the time for multiple rides before we had to meet back up.

Naaaa…
I think it says more about me.
I don’t know what it is about that one in particular, but there are a number of types and/or instances of comedy that are “universally accepted” as being funny, which just don’t work for me.

Example: “Borat”
To me, that’s not funny… it’s just mean spirited.
But I’m most certainly in the minority on that view point and accept that fact readily.
Of course the reverse is also true that much of what makes me smile is generally too dry for other folks.

I agree on Borat. I think that kind of act is mean-spirited as well. There are a few scenes that are undeniably funny, but for the most part I can't help but feel sorry for the poor unsuspecting people having this sprung on them for their embarrassment.

But I do love stupid comedy. Dumb and Dumber, Airplane/Naked Gun/Top Secret, The Jerk, The Man With Two Brains...the pure silliness is right up my alley.

I'm in the minority on Seinfeld, too. I always liked Cheers a lot better. Those characters were much more likable.

“Top Secret”! Whoooooaaa… I thought I was the only one that liked that one. :rotfl2:

We’re more on the same page then off it here. Being as the only other film on that list which I “know” is funny but just don’t like to sit through is “The Jerk”, I suspect that there is something else at play here on those two films. I’m sure the therapist that I have no intention of ever seeing or paying for could explain it to me pretty quickly (but that ain’t happening in my life time).

And…
I agree on “Seinfeld” as well. Jerry, I liked in general, but the supporting characters (not the actors, just the parts being played) were often so unlikable that I’d just skip the episode. There’s much good there, but I just didn’t always take time to wade thought it.

Sorry about that folks… I know y’all just wanted to read a lovely TR about Disney, but when you’re dealing with DisDads ya’ sometimes have to put up with long dissertations on such important topics and sophomoric humor, the merits of bacon and the quintessential importance of “fart joke” in American society.
:teacher:

It just goes with the territory. :lmao:

Uh oh, not the "Q" word. It's a good thing I haven't seen Nate hanging around here.:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Okay, I'll change my guess to say that you were able to find someone to take your fastpasses.

My theory is that a lot of the other lie possibilities would make for good stories that you would have wanted to include in the chapter. This one could too, if you gave away the fastpasses and the thankful recipients were so overcome with gratitude that they grabbed you up in a big bear hug and covered you with kisses.....but nah, my experience has always been that the people went "oh, okay."

And who likes brussel sprouts? :wave2:

It probably says a lot about me, but I love that movie. It never fails to crack me up.

The scene where they show up in Aspen on a minibike with snotsicles covering their faces is priceless.

“Top Secret”! Whoooooaaa… I thought I was the only one that liked that one. :rotfl2:

For a while there, you couldn't go wrong with the Zucker/Abrahams/Zucker team.

It had its moments, for sure.

I'm pretty confident most people find that stuff more interesting than the TR.

Squirrel!

Are you saying you don't like the Soup Nazi????? :confused3

The Soup Nazi was pretty funny. I also really liked their JFK spoof with Roger McDowell spitting on Kramer.

Uh oh, not the "Q" word. It's a good thing I haven't seen Nate hanging around here.:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Nope… that’s funny. :thumbsup2
And there are probably about ten or twenty-ish episodes that are undeniably classic.

But they did better then nine years worth of shows, and I can easily live with out three quarters of them. Like I said, there’s good stuff there, you just have to dig through it. It was often the writing for the George and Elaine characters would convince me not to put that much effort into the show. The actors themselves were excellent; I just didn’t care for the characters of several levels.

I suspect that even Nate wouldn’t argue against Fart Jokes :lmao: :rotfl2:

Now then… are we done Hijacking Mark’s TR, or is there anything we do to make a shambles of this thing? :lmao:

The scene where they show up in Aspen on a minibike with snotsicles covering their faces is priceless.
The part where the trooper pulls them over and takes a drink of the "beer" is pretty funny too. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Nope… that’s funny. :thumbsup2

I can agree with that point. They were a little too "bratty" most of the time. All about me and everything a crisis. That said, I loved Kramer and George's parents.

:confused3 Hey, he keeps responding to the highjack topics.

Well, that's certainly a logical theory. Would it also help to know that my wife and daughter like to scrapbook? :confused3

And who likes brussel sprouts? :wave2:

:crazy2: Now I know where to send mine. Maybe living in mushroom country dulls your senses. :rotfl:

The scene where they show up in Aspen on a minibike with snotsicles covering their faces is priceless.

We see eye-to-eye on that. I just have a hard time with characters I don't like.

I suspect that even Nate wouldn’t argue against Fart Jokes :lmao: :rotfl2:

My wife will get tired of the fart jokes long before any of the Dads do. :confused3

Now then… are we done Hijacking Mark’s TR, or is there anything we do to make a shambles of this thing? :lmao:

I already made a shambles of it, just by starting it.

Works for me. :lmao:

:thumbsup2

:lmao::lmao:

I love the bits with the hit man in the van. Want to hear the most annoying sound in the world?

I can agree with that point. They were a little too "bratty" most of the time. All about me and everything a crisis. That said, I loved Kramer and George's parents.

The bit players were often more likable and funnier than the main characters.

:confused3 Hey, he keeps responding to the highjack topics.

I feel this obsessive/compulsive need to reply to the entries on my TR. So...I guess I should tally points and start the next update instead?

Ok, I've tallied all the points. I'll post the updated leaderboard around 12:30 (ET) or so and the answer to the lie in this chapter. That should give you time, because...

...no one has correctly guessed it yet.

At least, not that I could remember.

Let’s take a different stab at the lie then.

From the TR…

Apparently Dave is the one who must have been flying our hang-glider

And…

So, Sarah and I shrugged and went on the ride, and had an awesome time. Except we had the same pilot again! What are the odds?

From the list…

--maybe someone else road Soarin' again.

I say Dave rode Soarin’ again with you and Sarah.
