operating hours in August

With the new extra magic hours going into effect in January, I was curious about the regular operating hours for August. I am so excited about having an extra 3 hours in the evening to enjoy the parks (although a little sad to not have MGM extra hours for the days we will be there) Anyone know what the hours were last August? I can't seem to find this information anywhere! TIA!

I know I found this information somewhere before, but I can't seem to find it now. We'll be there from 8/24 - 8/28. Just trying to figure out what time we'll be able to stay in the parks until with the new evening extra magic hours. Anybody??

We'll be there, too. I'm also wondering, although others have said that the operating hours are much earlier at the end of August, compared to the beginning weeks.

I, like everyone else!, have been revamping my initial outline for this trip, but I'm going to wait for all the kinks to get worked out first.

I think this is great for this time of year, since it is so hot during the day, it will be nice to have that option of staying at the park in the cooler evening hours.

I think I remember seeing that the closing time was going to be earlier at the end of August than in the begining of the month. I think it's so great to be able to have 3 extra hours in the evening to go back to the parks after an afternoon break! Just trying to obsessively plan to make the most of our short stay.

I noticed you are north of Boston - we're just south of Boston - small world!

Somewhere around the 12th or so of August, they cut back dramatically on the operating hours. I think its around the time that most schools are back in sesson.

We were there in 2002 and the hours were
5:30 Animal Kingdom
9:00 Mgm and Majic Kingdom
9:00 future world and 11:00 Innoventions

By the way, We'll be there 27 August to the 3rd of Sept.

Were you at DW at the end of August back in 2002 or was it the beginning of the month? If the Magic Kingdom is open until 9:00 and then on extra magic hour nights, they would be open until 12:00? That would be awesome!! Last time we went (11/2002) the parks closed so early that we didn't get to enjoy them in the evening. Thanks for the help!

We were there 8/22 - 8/29 this year. The MK closed at 8:30 every night except for Tues and Sat when they closed at 9:30. Those two "later nights" were SpectroMagic nights (parade at 8:30, Wishes at 9:30). MGM closed at 8:30 every night (Fantasmic began at 8:30); AK at 5 pm; Epcot at 9 (with the 9 pm showing of Illuminations).

It was a great time of year to travel given the lighter crowds, but it might have been nice to have more park hours during the evening just to avoid that daytime heat!
