Opening day- Costco direct or book online and transfer?

We are looking to book on opening day. No OBB. We want to go through Costco. Will we be able to book online if we are silver? We have only called in in the past but there was a long wait on the phone. Can we book online and then transfer the reservation to Costco?

If you book on the day that Silver can book, you must call directly (either you or COSTCO). If you wait until the day bookings open to the public, you call or do it online (either you or COSTCO).

I always call DCL and book it directly on opening day for my level (platinum) (I have a specific cabin I like). I even was able to call the day before and a CM placed the booking before the lines opened.

Then I email the transfer form to DCL. Later in the day I call Costco and they can pull up the reservation and I pay then the reservation.

Has worked great year after year. You just cant beat the size of that Costco cash card... $1045 for the next couple cruises for me....

Call Costco Travel & tell them that you want to transfer your cruise to them. They will email you the cruise transfer form.

If you are plat you cannot book online on opening day. Call the day before and ask a CM to do the booking for you so you can call in and get it finalized. I was surprised when they did that for me, but it worked great.

That is the first I've ever heard of them allowing it the night before - and I would imagine it's an anomaly and probably an error on the part of the CM who did it, but Disney being Disney they honored it (and I now feel sorry for all the poor CMs having to hear "But I read on the DISboards..." from people calling to "hold" it until booking opens. - and if it gets to be entirely too much, I'd suspect that the early booking window might go away all together).
