From the Orlando Sentinel........

Soarin', a hang-glider movie ride at Epcot, and Lights, Motors, Action, a car-stunt show at Disney-MGM Studios, are scheduled to open in May.

This was included in an Oct 11 article regarding Stitches Great Escape.

We'll be there the last week in May.

Now if we could just find a way into Stitch next week..........

Hope it happens...........I'd love to see them on our Memorial Day trip!!! Vike.....we haven't set our dates yet, but a drink at the Poly might be in order.

The big media event is the first week of May, so it's probably safe to assume things will at least be open for soft openings and previews by then. I think by Memorial Day for sure... obviously they want to get things open before the summer crowds hit.

Bummer, Bummer, Our trip is Apr. 16-Apr. 26. Oh well, I was hoping to catch both of them.

We're looking forward to "Soarin", and the Motorcar Stunt Show next June. After nearly two years since our last visit, it looks like there will be many new things to see and do!

Will they have that (soft openings) before a major celebration? Won't that spoil the big event? I would love for my mom to see Soarin.

They did it for Mission: Space. They even had the AP preview two MONTHS before the big official opening of M:S. Part of the reason for soft openings is to test things out and get all the bugs fixed and everything running perfectly for the big opening.

It would be worth buying an AP for that, but I know when Mission Space opened up, there wasn't a big celebration. Anyways, I'll keep my fingers crossed!! My dates are so close!!

Oh yes, there was. I was there! I work for a major newspaper and often go to the larger WDW press events. It was the second week of October last year and went on for three days. We had a big event one morning at AK and a HUGE party at Epcot one day -- they closed the park to the public at 3 pm! There were former astronauts who did interviews all afternoon, a video feed from the space station during the dedication that was projected onto the side of the building, and both Carly Fiorina (CEO of HP) and Michael Eisner spoke.

Sorry, what I meant was they weren't kicking off a big 4-park celebration when Mission Space opened up, like they are in May. That's why I thought they might wait...To increase the anticipation for May 5.

Yes-May 5. That's what I'm hoping for, especially for Soarin'. Taking Mom, who hasn't been to Disney in 20 years, for Mother's Day.

Hoping to see three new things on my August 2005 trip.

Stitches Great Escape.

Car show in MGM

and of course the one I'm most excited about

SOARIN in EPCOT.

I INTEND TO GO EVERY YEAR FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. GOD WILLING. NO MORE WATING EVERY 4 YEARS FOR ME. LIFE IS TOO SHORT.

I've been Looking for the opening of Soarin in Epcot. Where is it located. I hope they have soft openings in March.

Didn't Mission Space usually open the doors around 1:00 p.m. for the soft opening or was it 4:00 p.m.

Not to be negative or anything which I know you will all think of me as but whatever...I will never be able to stand in the line area of Soarin' without thinking about how The Peach Boys and Niel Mousakka and Pita Gabriel used to be there. The Land used to be such a nice place to go and just relax and have a great meal from the Sunshine Season Food Faire. After Soarin' opens it will be so crowded it will loose its charm. And you all know it wether you choose to admit it or not. Whew...glad to get that off my chest.

.... Hopefully they'll reopen WoL so we can still have a nice peacefull place to go to get away from the crowds.
