Saturday and Sunday
grocery shopped and purchased a chest freezer.

1200 dollars later we might have enough food to make the 3 plus weeks at the fort.

After looking at your pics, are you 'sure' you will have enough food and drink?? LOL That sure looks like a lot of food to haul across the country!!! I think that's a first for me to see someone bring a big freezer!

Final list check tonight. I am off work now, set the emails to vacation response. Leaving tomorrow by 930. I have worked very hard the last 6 months to reduce my tendency to micro manage people at work. I hope my phone doesn't ring too much while I am gone. I feel giddy right now chilling out by the pool.

Enjoy your trip. It sounds like a great epic.

And my boss cured my ability to micromanage. I kept inheriting areas no one else wanted. Pretty soon the span of control was big enough that I had to put good people in place and trust them. Life is much better now.

One thing I know is you can never have enough food. Especially traveling with kids. You can always bring food home but getting it cheap once you arrive is a pain in the butt.

Made camp gulf by 900 pm Thursday night. Our spot was flooded but mgmt. made it right. We decided to stay in Destin till Sunday. The wifi won't let me post pictures. We have some good ones to post. I hope to have better internet at the fort. My kids used up our allotment on the hotspot on the first day drive. I did call the fort and begged the front desk for loop 600 waterside. Camp gulf is worth the $$$ and the next fort trip we will plan more time here. We did not unpack here for the short stay so no bbq yet...

just wait till they are teenagers... Then you're talking GB on a daily basis.

Awesome on Camp Gulf! We will be there for a week in about 11 days!!

WE had a snag, we were downgraded from premium to preferred at the check in post. The employee could not explain why and I asked him 3 times but he could not tell me why…. I did not get the requested site on Sunday. I ended up parking at the median and going into the front desk area to get the resi figured out. They got me close to my spot on Sunday and were able to get us the spot we wanted today. They gave us 611 on Sunday (not water side) and gave us 608 today. No big deal to move across the street and we completed the move by 9 this morning. We got our missing tickets squared away last night at the will call area at MK, The box office by pioneer hall could not assist. Had a fun night chilling and we made some late night cheeseburgers on the grill that were yummy. This morning after the move we did standard breakfast eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausage and lots of coffee. We are smoking some bbq ribs for dinner tonight and will plan. will post random pictures below
