Got our tickets today for our after Thanksgiving trip. When I opened the tickets I was so surprised. I got Hard plastic tickets with Characters on them. Just like my MVMCP tickets I got a couple months ago. I was expecting the Tyvek tickets Like every body was saying they were getting. The tickets were 7 day MYW base tickets. Got them from disney with the GM discount.

It's the annual passes that are typically not plastic-- which makes NO sense at all as they're used for a whole year. Unless they've changed. We're getting AP's next month so I guess I'll find out!! :cool1:

You are right, you would think that the AP would be plastic as you do keep them for a whole year in your wallet.. Please let us know when you get your AP if it comes in plastic this time....

This must be something very new. We are going or the second time in a short time frame. My tickets in Sept were paper. The tickets I just got 2 weeks ago are plastic.

My tickets are apparently going to be on my resort room card. How does this work exactly? Are they thin enough to go through the turnstyles and fast passes? This is different than last year.

We got our tickets in the mail this past Sat (wheeee!!!!!! :Pinkbounc ), and they were also the hard plastic ones. I'd never ordered them online from Disney before (always AAA or the park), so I thought maybe that was the norm. It will be nice not to worry about getting them messed up (though we never had trouble before). We got two Mickeys and a Goofy.

The "Key to the Kingdom" card will contain both your resort room key and your park passes, if you purchased them together. It can also be your room charging key. It's the size of a regular credit card, fits in the machine at the parks just fine.

My only problem was I kept having to get new keys. I don't know what I was doing that kept de-activating it, but I killed two keys in 5 days. LOL

I know this has been discussed nearly to death, but I have to add my recent experience. I absolutely hate that the APs are paper. Someone once posted that they are not truly made of paper but of a very, very sturdy product. Well, they may not be made of "paper," but I've learned the hard way that they are NOT sturdy. I washed ds' this past weekend. I thought I had just washed his plastic room key at first. Then I realized there was a thin sheet of paper "glued" to one side...his PAP!!! When I peeled his pass off his key, all that was left was a fuzzy picture -- no magnetic strip, numbers, etc. Dh is calling today to see if we can get it replaced. I'm afraid I cannot find where I wrote down the new numbers on his pass when we upgraded it from an AP. Ugh!!

You don't need the numbers, with an AP or PAP they can look it up by nmae.

I ordered mine from Ticketmania and just received them. They are paper ones. I wish they were the plastic. Anyhow, they are the 10 day park hoppers with no expiration. Just thought I'd let ya know.

I've booked OKW using DVC points. And, I purchased tickets online through Disney that I can pick up at Will Call when we get there. Do you think they could load these tickets on to my room keys? Otherwise, do you think they'll be plastic???

Also, the room keys... can you get different names on each key???

I am in the minority but I don't like the plastic tickets and have had to have them replaced while our paper tickets, including AP's hold up fine!

In October I had an AP and purchased my dd's MYW passes. They were plastic ones from the Disney store.

Day 1 - admission to the park was no problem but they were too thick and jammed up every FP machine we tried at Epcot.

Day 2 - admission to MGM was fine but again they jammed the FP machine at RnRC. I had them exchanged for paper at guest relations and never had a problem again.

To the poster who washed the AP, don't worry it can be replaced since it is an AP or PAP. If you son dosen't have his own ID they may ask for yours just to verify. I lost my dd's AP last year and it took minutes to replace at GR outside MK, they did ask for my ID.

We just moved this year from CA and at DL they give you a hard plastic card with your picture on it. I like this better as my boys have gone through 2 or 3 of these paper ones in 8 months.

But then again, DL charges $20 to replace a lost card, so I guess it is a trade-off.

I just renewed my AP last month and they are still the paper tickets. When I was an AP holder for Universal, we had hard tickets with our pictures on them.
