Good morning, good morning, good morning! I hope you're feeling fine. The sun has come up and it's time to get, out of bed you sleepy head. Good morning, good morning, good morning! It's time to rise and shine.

My Mom always sang that to us, and now I sing it to my kids. Sometimes. But usually it's THEM that wake me up.

Like last night at 3AM when Kaleb decided it was morning and HE wanted to play. That didn't last long. Daddy's the boss here! (I pretend to still be sleeping, do I don't have to deal with it ALL the time.) :lmao:

BTW - My Christmas tree is not still up. It went down a few days after Christmas. It was VERY VERY dead and so out it went. Now it's a haven for wildlife out in the bushes behind out house. We didn't torch it this year since it was over 9 feet....that would have been some HIGH flames, and there's lots of trees here. :rotfl:

morning everyone.

We got a good amount of snow.....now remember two weekends in a row we were predicted to have a substantial amount of snow or PLOWABLE snow and that did not happen......so this snow storm was said to be a dusting...and we probably got 5 or so inches....hubby has the snowblower going....sun is out and everyone in the neighborhood is out either with machinery or a shovel......gotta love Maine.....well I do except winter..
LilG......I have to tell you......you made me weep......you always make me feel important when I am down and you dont even know it. Hard week ...for that I am grateful to you for your kindness always..

Now for the deer hunting .....The last two winters have been very easy on the deer herd and that is good news. But when usual weather happens ...deer have no food to get to and they also can not run away from predators like coyotes and humans dogs.....nothing worse then to see a poor deer with his limbs broken or all torn up.......that is sad......knowing that this poor creature didnt have a chance and died in pain. Over population of deer also means more car accidents and dead deer by the side of the roads. Same goes for Moose .....that is how the biologists know what areas to have any deer permits and also which areas are good for bull moose up north.
I too love to sit in the woods and just watch. One time (of course scared me to death) was a little one inch mole.....it was my first year allowed to be out in the woods by myself. SO this little one inch mole jumped out of the leaves and scared me to pieces.......My heart was beating so fast.....Now the black bear that was about 20 feet behind me in the woods blatting away......didnt scare me cause I had my gun in my lap. But no mice or moles jumping.....I have seen a pilated woodpecker that I watched for hours......it was amazing to see WOODY WOODPECKER in person.....huge.......also I have seen a white owl and loved every minute.....the fisher and the coyote didnt impress me either......scared me actually.......I know what carries rabies in the woods......YIKES.
Thanks to you all for allowing me to be here and chat and share.....:grouphug:

Morning Open Mike peeps :yay:

Happy Saturday before the Super Bowl pig out

Get the Christmas trees decorated with hearts and call em Valetines trees.

Hey Toot! Long time no see :upsidedow

Pumba said: I have seen a pilated woodpecker that I watched for hours......it was amazing to see WOODY WOODPECKER in person.....huge.......

We just this past week saw one in our backyard! It was SO cool! First I heard it and I started looking, because I'd never heard a bird like that. Then I spotted it and we watched him for a while. The next day he was on a tree close to the house. Way cool! I couldn't believe how big it was!

The Tooth Fairy came to our house last night .... TWICE!!!!

My DS7 lost his front top rt. tooth that was hanging in the breeze for weeks and it finally gave up it's hold on my darling squeemish son's mouth. So we put it in a zip lock baggie and stuck it under his pillow for the TF to find.

Meanwhile, my DS8 was eating a jawbreaker and tried to bite it and a formerly very loose tooth came out (a baby molar) YIKES!!!! So we put HIS tooth also in a baggy under the pillow for the Tooth Fairy.

They made me leave the night-light on because (1.) they were a little askeerd that a fairy would be pillaging under their pillows in the middle of the night and (2.) they wanted to catch her in the act!!!!! I love that they still have magic in their lives!

After reading my first sentence above, did you think the tooth fairy left money twice on the same kid? Like, her DH didnt think she remembered and did it himself? THAT would be sooooo likely. Either that or having the Tooth Fairy plumb-forget her duties (much more likely). Or there was the time the Tooth Fairy gave the $20 in her wallet instead of the $5 because it was too dark and she's dingy. Happy kid, though!

Hi Granny! Nice to see ya, ya old hag!! :rotfl2: Just kidding, you know I think you're tops. And great Idea about the Christmas tree, cause Mine is still up and who knows when it will come down this year. :confused3

Wow! Cool! I've never seen a woodpecker! :) Was he loud and peckerish?

Peckerish? :rotfl: He actually did do much pecking. But, boy did he peck fast! His voice was super loud. Sounded a lot like Woody Woodpecker.

Have you seriously never seen a woodpecker?

I'm Bonnie. I lived my whole life in Nevada. :(

But we moved to VA last summer, so maybe I'll see one here sometime, who knows! :)

Good Morning or afternoon, or whatever it is where you are! The clock is striking noon as I write. It's 14 degrees here. Brrrrr. I had to take the dustmop out and clean off the satellite dish so I could get my internet connection working. My sympathies to Pumba, as the weather sounds as cold, or colder there.

I had to laugh about MommyPoppins and her Christmas tree. Our isn't exactly still up, but Lowell carried it out into the front yard, stand and all, intending to take care of it later, but the stand froze to the ground and became buried in ice and snow! So we have this very lovely snow-covered pine tree in our yard. You can't tell it's on a stand. I rather like it. I think I may do this again next year!

Marita, thanks for reading and posting on bunnysmum's trip report. She is a very good writer, and I hope other people will check out her report. It's aggravating when you spend a lot of time and feel like only a handful of people are reading. I've "been there" and appreciate the growing number of people reading my own. (Thanks in part to both Nebo and UMA.) I posted another segment today, in which we finally check in at the Wilderness Lodge. There are quite a few photos, mostly of our room and areas outdoors. My lobby photos didn't turn out well. I think the camera wants to adjust lighting based on light coming through distant windows rather than the closer lighting. I'm still getting used to using a digital camera.

I have a headache! I've been going over stroller features and reviews all morning. DH had to work this morning, he took 2 of the boys. YAY! Course, the baby has been driving me up the wall. He never stops, ever. I think I am leaning toward the Maclaren brand...combi seem to be too wide, peg perego had a lot of bad reviews(i'm looking for doubles, obviously), maybe the inglesina, but that one weighs like 8 pounds more than the others. Our last stroller, purchased just a year ago, is CRAP. Graco, fakco. I don't look forward to pushing that thing for 4 days at wdw again. I want to take a nap just thinking about it...

*On one site I read a complaint that this stroller doesn't go up stairs - that's correct. Unless the steps have deep step treads, in which case I have pushed and tipped my way up one short flight.

:rotfl: :rotfl:

I wasn't aware of the fact that strollers could go up steps. What have I missed all these years? :lmao:

we just returned from looking at kitchen flooring......I liked some and then saw it up close and personal and WOW.......UGLY......never pick from a book...we spent two hours today and last weekend about three hours looking....and have not made up our mind yet....this is hard you know......but also we have time because the first flooring HUBBY WANTS REMOVED.......so that the new stuff will be perfect....we want something that is family proof and dog proof....the last one was really good but Megara ate two or three chunks off when she was a puppy.......so we waited to make sure she was done that stage......and I think she is...
I dont think that the pergo would stand up to kiddos and doggies .....and I am not going to have to speak all the time about the floor to anyone.......I like a comfortable home and that is what we will do..we should brick it up and then put a drain in the middle and hose it down once a week.......hahahaha

Inspired by mommypoppins madd skillz, I have managed to weasel a DisneyLand trip in for 20 days from now!!!!!! YAY!!!!

It'll be Riley's 7th birthday and my sister in California just had a baby at Christmas time and she INSISTS we stay in her brand new house in Riverside! No problem there!!!! So, I want to make 3 ADR's for DisneyLand and California Adventure. Do people do that? I've never ADR'd California but I really want to take my family to that Blue Bayou inside POC. Do they have LTT there? I gotta do some homework!

Oh, and we're driving! Send me all your post-surgery leftover pain meds ASAP :hippie: so I will be pleasant for the drive. OR, we'll drag out the DVD players and Duct Tape. That is a boring drive through Nevada (no offense Bonnie!) Just endless miles of Yucca and sagebrush :upsidedow .

I gotta do a ticker! Here's My rough draft:

20 days till Family Fun Road Trip with Duct Tape and Percocet:

Woo Hoooh, MP and Uma! Congrats on your mad skillz!

Still drab and dreary here today, I hate going out in weather like that, so I didn't. Ergo still no manicure, pedicure or oilchange - oh well. Nail place is closed tomorrow, so at best I might get an oilchange done.

I'll take that bet, Marita! Just be happy you're not having below zero wind chill like here!!! I am out and about today anyway. Lunch and a movie (Because I Said So), picked out Valentines, and just had some soup at Panera. Yum.

Uma - Congrats on your upcoming trip!!! I think you can make ADRs. That Bayou restaurant looked cool!

Moo, I am such a couch potato! Like Goldilocks, the weather has to be just right. Not raining. not cold, not dreary, not too hot. 80's and sunny, LOL. A miracle I get anything done.

Soup from Panera sounds good, although I have never been to one. Might have to do with the fact that I havent eaten all day, LOL. (I mean that is sounds good, any food sounds good now)
What kind did you have?

I would eat something, but I don't know what I want. So I think I'll take a nap first.....

I just noticed I am three off from having a wooooooooo hooootie
we went out tonight and I am exhuasted already....is it time for bed.....ms. Megara was up at five barking at the paper person....and then she came back to bed and went to sleep but pops and I were already awake.....BRAT>......

It is getting mega cold now.....below the zero mark again .....and the moon is full and gorgeous out there....

Glad that you are going to California for a surprise trip.....that is so exciting to go someplace different.....

I am soooooo ready to go to Disney.....I mean RIGHT NOW..but we will wait and see what happens between now and then.......hubbies other brothers can be on the phone alert for their mama and my sister and brother can be on the phone alert for our mama.....I always stress when it gets time to go.......oy oy oy.

well I shall celebrate in private......in my very own living room .......all by myself........I wanted to share with you all though
