Open Mike Night - Everyone is Welcome

Must sell cookies....

GRRRR... today is "turn in your order day" and I have only had 1 phone call.

GRRRRR, I called all the parents twice now. Turn in your order to me on SATURDAY!!!

One of these days, I must learn how to say NO.:sad2:

:thumbsup2 ...that's great how you support the girls scouts!!!

{yeah, the pain of processing the orders..esp. since you have
such a sweet lil'girl...no wonder, she selling them by the tons!}
well , our daugther is in the scouts too! and she has TERRFIC
leader...they have done so many neat things over the years!

say no?,,we know better!...from your great trip report, [in which
i never get tired reading], what a wondeful caring attitude you
have! ....your kids know they are loved! that's the best investment
a family can give....with the rewards yet to come when they're fully
grown!.........:) every time "seeing" how happy they are in the
disney bus!...disney world..is a place to get excited and have a
lil' fun!

* in the begining..i did not look forward to any disney trip. boy did i raised
cane 'bout having to do a cruise too..with the "family"..what changed my
mind was running into other families...in the same boat , and their
willness to interact with ours. one can "see" those willing to share in
the trippie sections, which i now know what they're talking about. seeing
my children joy..is priceless! & the food ain't half bad!

WT, LOVE your new avatar!!!

Steph, I hope the parents come through with their orders this weekend for you. I have a coworker who has dealt with his Boy Scouts troop's popcorn sale - he and his wife always seem harried that time of year. They usually end up with a boatload of popcorn that they buy and give as gifts.

Pumba, sorry to hear it is still so frigid up there. We had a bit of melt-off overnight, but now I see it is gently snowing again. At least it is 32 here today.

It's a one of a kind avatar! Makes me hungry, though.
Spray cheese goes well with Wheat Thins crackers. But it quadruples the calories.

Need to work on my lesson.

Semi formal shopping was fun!! I brought the camera so she can see a pic of the 5 thousand she treid on, 3 other mothers were saying "I should have thought of that" so I took pics of them as well.
We were entertained by the modeling show for an hour and a half!!!

Evening all! Just poppin' in for a bit. I've had a crazy busy day today. I'm thinkin' it will be an early night tonight. After haircuts and a movie!
See ya tomorrow or Monday!

Didn't lose nuthin cuz I didn't go. My higher power had other ideas of how I should spend my free time. FYI, it did not include a day at the races.

Wheat Thins
hmdns

Someone tell me to get crackin on my lesson for tomarrow. I procrastinate till the last minute. Dang.

It's on Obeying the Commandments, if anyone's curious. Like George.
I always try to include a treat/bribe with a clever little attachment.
I got NOTHIN! I have those sugar coted gummy orange wedges. I can say, "Orange you glad ______" (I told you, I got nothin")

And I have candy conversation hearts. I can say something like: "Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, might, mind, and strength". Or something along the LOVE lines.

The focus is on the consequences to the naughty and stupid stuff we do. Like, what would happen if we drove with a flat tire, or stayed home from school on our big test day or didn't smile back at a stranger? Some consequences are insignificant. But some are BIG.

Hmmmmm. Just saw this post and will give it some thought. Maybe I can come up with an angle for you. :)

oh goodness......hard to teach them to youngsters....Our kids and gkids went to the catholic school near my house....and it was around Easter time and our gd came home and she very seriously looked at me and said.....Ralphie died right and I said yes........He was buried right........and I said yes.......and he came back as that ivy.......I almost split a gutt laughing.......Ralphie was our neighbor and when he died hubby and I took care of all the arrangments and house....well in the house was a six inch ivy that he loved and thought it was growing so great......so I took it home......and I called it ralphie.......so Kaitlynn in her very innocence of first grade said that ..I always said .....Oh I have to water Ralphie...OY OY OY....gotta love that one story....now about those commandments.....good luck......

Okay, here's my angle, using your oranges. God made much of nature, like trees and grass, to behave in a certain way. An orange tree doesn't wake up in the morning and choose whether it will be a good orange tree or a bad orange tree. It can't decide to go against God's plan for it, and produce peaches or pears or watermelons instead or oranges. But people have free will. We can decide whether to follow God's rules and be the kind of people He intends us to be. We can be "good orange trees" which makes Him happy, and us happy too, or we can produce no fruit or the wrong fruit, and disappoint him.

Well, it's a start. Not sure what age kids you're dealing with.
