Hmmm, I had friends in all the cliques. Mostly though I hung out with the Choir and Drama students.

I got thrown out of the choir for being off-key, and someone in their infinite wisdom decided I should be the MC for a school show to draw me out of my shell. Of course I sucked at that, LOL, it scarred me for life. Both of those. I was 13 at the time. To this day I will not do anything having to do with speaking in front of a group (I am fine sitting around a table).

I was never in a clique in school, which may have had something to do with the fact it was in another town, I had to take the train. But I was in one in my little town, sort of (although my parents would never let me hear the "Roosters" play in clubs, so I missed a lot of clique time.). Met hubby in one little disco called "The Candlellight". Which was a disco dimly lit playing records, with dancing and beer (lots of beer games) and pinball games and the best broetchen with Mett.

DH was stationed in a close by village that had a total of like 35 US soldiers stationed there, a Missile base. When they had drills, you could see the missiles come out of the ground, ready to blast off.

Anyway. DH hubby walked in there wearing dark sunglasses at night one day :cool2: I made a snide comment to my best friend about him, how lame that was.

Little did I know that we would be married..... and here I am, 36.5 years later.

How did I get on this tangent? Oh, clique or no clique, LOL.
No school clique. little town clique in a bar , HAHAHAHA

Howdy all (whom I will not call any particular nickname)!

Busy day at work today. I went in a little late this morning -- I had a bit of a headache, so I checked the DIS before leaving.

I was a major band geek in school, so I guess that was my clique.

Uma, I'm going to miss you tooooooooooooo! WOOO HOOOOOTY!

Marita you took a train to school , not a school bus. Or is your train like a sub way.....

I sure hope you weren't 13 when you were in those clubs....:rotfl2:

Hi Steph...:wave2:

/
I am Twinkie's BFF and I dont know what a preferred sha is. I yam pretty sure it's a tag fairy spelling error. There's another verb tense error in her tag collection. We just pretend it's all fine and dandy.
I will admit that the verb tense error is mine. Though actually it was a typo.. I know when to use know and when to use known but I did forget the last n.
As for the sha... I know what it is. However it sounds vaguely feng shui. Makes me look smarter than I am. So all will remain veiled in mystery.

goog= Someone made a spelling error "good" and we all HOPPED on that like white on rice...

and that someone was WheatThins. Just sayin. :)

BFF said:
wonderfu= spelling error we made fun of. Morphed into any word ending with "ul" omitted the "L".
That was me. And it was Thankful in a particularily moving and sentimental post about my children. Utah then proclaimed that it was more than a spelling error... it was a way of life.

Hi Steph...:wave2:

Hi Nab!

No, it was a regular train. Choo choo and all that, with a locomotive. Different school system there, I went to a more advanced school, like getting you ready for university, vs. local schools where you got out at grade 8 and then went to technical training in a profession.
No school busses in Germany.

No, the disco years were more like 15, LOL

Twinkie, does Twinkerbell have a follow-up at the hospital tomorrow? If so, hope it goes well.

:wave2: Marita!

18 was the legal age for drinking when I was in college. I made it through to age 21 before they bumped the age back up.

However . . .

Marita 15 sounds so young to be in a disco. You wild thing you.....

I never went to a club until I was 19. We can drink here at that age. And I was a good girl and never drank before that. Not that my friends didn't:lmao:

And now a tune for Sis:

I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, so I can
Watch you weave
Then breathe your story lines
And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, so I can
Keep track of the visions in my eyes

While she's deceiving me
It cuts my security
Has she got control of me
I turn to her and say

Don't switch the blade
On the guy in shades, oh-no
Don't masquerade
With the guy in shades, oh-no
I can't believe it
'Cause you got it made
With the guy in shades, oh-no

And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, so I can
Forget my name while you collect your claim
And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, so I can
See the light that's right before my eyes

While she's deceiving me
She cuts my security
Has she got control of me
I turn to her and say

Don't switch the blade
On the guy in shades, oh-no
Don't masquerade
With the guy in shades, oh-no
I can't believe it
Don't be afraid
Of the guy in shades, oh-no
It kinda scared you
'Cause you got it made
With the guy in shades, oh-no

Oh, I say I wear my sunglasses at night
I wear my sunglasses at night
I wear my sunglasses at night
I say it to you now
I wear my sunglasses at night
I wear my sunglasses at night
I wear my sunglasses at night
I cry to you
I wear my sunglasses at night
I wear my sunglasses at night

And now a tune for Sis:

LOL, sis! That is funny. I will have to try to scan a pic of DH back then, in skinny jeans and a jeans jacket and cowboy boots, and dark glasses of course, all posed on the steps in front of the disco. DD has it blown up and hung in her room, cause he looks so "cool". She made it a point to show her new BF the other day.

OooooOOoooo! I have a KILLER choir story. I am a flat alto. Flat as in off key and pitchy. The one song I CAN sing is Rainbow Connection. Which was my try out song....made it IN!!!!! BUT, I actually mouthed, LIP SINC'd my way through 2 years! I think there miraculously were a couple other songs I passed on. I can still "see" my choir teacher sloooooowly walk past the alto section to figure out who was flat....as she passed me, she'd quinge :sad2: ....it didn't care! I was there for the fun!

Uma, are you posting how you did this week before you leave? Did the rest of those lbs come off? Hope so. If not, you'll walk the rest off, I'm sure.

Indiana Jones was a little too hurky jerky for me. I guess I just didn't expect that.

How about if you think of me when you ride the original Soarin'?!!

Moo, beer or wine were the only safe things to drink in Germany back then;)

And they had great beer and wine, both very cheap:thumbsup2
