Joe, I clearly remember drinking some Rhine wine during dinner in Germany on the trip. We also had a this dessert in Austria where they floated a pineapple ring in wine with whipped cream on top.

OooooOOoooo! I have a KILLER choir story. I am a flat alto. Flat as in off key and pitchy. The one song I CAN sing is Rainbow Connection. Which was my try out song....made it IN!!!!! BUT, I actually mouthed, LIP SINC'd my way through 2 years! I think there miraculously were a couple other songs I passed on. I can still "see" my choir teacher sloooooowly walk past the alto section to figure out who was flat....as she passed me, she'd quinge ....it didn't care! I was there for the fun!

Uma, my teacher kept saying, somebody is singing off key! And then he pointed to me. You, OUT!!!!!!!! I was mortified!

That was on a all girl school trip to an island in the North sea. Summer I was 13. It was a traumatic year LOL!

In addition to the choir incident, and then following that the MC incident, during the trip one of the teachers asked me to get her a knife from the kitchen. Now, I had some modicum of education in the matter (don't ask me how, I forgot) but I remember thinking if I should put it on a plate to deliver. Then I decided, no, not necessarry, 1 knife, I pick it up by the handle, no big deal.
Boy, did I get blasted for that!!!!!! HAVE to deliver it on a plate.

Maybe I should see a shrink, LOL!

NO ONE knows what a preferred sha is. That's why it's funny. Tag fairy spelled something wrong.

Wendy, the tags are limited to a certain number of characters, when the Tag Fairy is typing in the tag there is nothing to tell her (or him) when that limit has been reached. Then when the tag is saved if it exceeds the limit it just truncates the tag (ignores any characters that exceed the limit). So it probably wasn't a spelling error, part of the word just got cut off.

And have you finished packing yet?

we were talking about how you always forget SOMETHING when going on vacation and I have given up trying to remember everything, I just hope I forget something unimportant

Ok- Utah just posted a commercial on her Disneyland Trip Report. It is funny! (How much did big gulp pay you Wendy?) She is just beautiful.... inside and out and I am proud to be her friend. I hope to be as classy as she is when I grow up (remember double check BEFORE you grab )

I'm sure most of our meals were low budget because the cost of our two week trip was ridiculously low, even for back then - something like $600, air fare included.

Uma! Have a fantabulous trip, and think of me when you ride Peter Pan's flight. I still say it's a way better ride at Disneyland than it is at the World. And I loved the Storybookland Canal boats at night. Gotta be at night. That's when they look magical!

I just scored what very well may be the road trip saver! A cd player and a new Fall out Boy CD from Walmart. It's Great. Plus I'm borrowing Killers and Queen and Sublime from DS17 who is now ipodded. (Now then, to explain...in her awesome trip report, Kay made mention of learning a few "odd phrases" in Spanish prior to a trip to Mexico. Naturally, I took the "odd" part to heart, and suggested a few handy to know phrases one should have at the ready in several different languages, because you just never know...

...and I actually found these online somewhere, as phrases that actually appeared in various foreign language learning texts...

Some of my favorites included:

* Is it okay to take my laptop into the sauna?
* The children are sitting under the tree and learning physics.
* What happened to the road? We are driving in a field!
* Why are you laughing? Is my Hungarian that bad?

Uma, I would do the research for you and look up how to say these in Californese, but I heard that you are actually a native, so you probably speak the language.
