Good Monday Morning Open Mikers.

Marita, I could use a few thin mints to get me started. Yummmm. The only thing better than chocolate and mint is chocolate and peanut butter.

The girl I babysit is all snotty AGAIN! Why is it everytime we're going away she gets sick right before? So now I have to spend the day making sure she stays quarantined. She got sick on Wednesday. Started throwing up ON THE WAY HOME FROM MY HOUSE! Boy did I luck out of that one!

I need a pencil sharpener. Mine won't sharpen anymore. How can we do school without pencils??

I'll try and write a little sumpin' about our trip once I get them settled with some workbooks.

Good morning babynurse1 and Mommy Poppins. Looks like it's just us so far, holding down the fort. MommyP: looking forward to hearing details about your trip.

Goooood Morning Sunshines!!!!!!

We are having "severe weather conditions" at the moment. My DISH network satellite dish is FULL of snow on my roof. What-up-wid-dat? I thought we were done having snow. It's full on white out-ness. WOW! Means I have to go out and shovel the driveway when it slows down. There's some good exercise for me! DH made it home on the un-plowed roads. He's a sleep and my only job today is to keep my kids quiet till about noon. Piece of CAKE!

Well, it sure is pretty once the sun comes out and makes it all sparkle.

Hi, BN, MP, BSG, Moo, Kay!!!!!!!!! Nice to see you this morning.

I think we arrived in Orlando around 6:30. We were going to head to the Boardwalk and walk to WS. I didn’t want to deal with walking through all of Future World when all we wanted to do was be in WS. Plus I figured if we decided to stay for Illuminations, it would make for an easy exit. Plus, I’d always wanted to visit the BW. Chad was very impressed with my knowledge! It did take us awhile to figure out HOW to get to the Boardwalk. We ended up in the convention center! We finally made our way to the actual boardwalk and then it took a while to figure out which way to Epcot. At first we were waiting on the boat, but then I saw which way it was so we just walked. Epcot wasn’t too crowded, which was nice. I have a really hard time seeing at night, and World Showcase is REALLY dark, especially when it’s shoulder to shoulder people. Chad literally has to lead me around! But it wasn’t too crowded, so it wasn’t as dark. We decided on a bratwurst, which was just loverly. Unfortunately my stomach was bothering me. First time in a week. I guess my magic medicine can only work so well, when you add nerves to the mix, I still wasn’t feeling well. So, we decided to call it a night in hopes that our 3 star 69.00 a night price line hotel would have those cool movies you can order that aren’t out on video yet. We found our hotel easily, at first site I wasn’t impressed. The lobby was nice, but the outside was just so generic. We found our room and at first glance I was seriously unimpressed. The beds were so low they could have been air mattresses. In fact, I’ve slept on a air mattress that was better. I actually said, ”Do you think we could just put one mattress on top of the other so we can be off the floor?” The colors were cream and brown. Totally ugly. But it was clean. So I was thankful for that. The bathroom was so small you could barely close the door. It only cleared the toilet by a couple inches and the toilet acted like it didn’t really want to flush. Worse yet? We might as well have been staying on Disney property. No movie channels. What a bummer. So we watched CSI and fell asleep. At the same time. I didn’t make it to the end. I’m NOT a night person, or a morning person for that matter.

We both were awake way before the alarm was set to go off. But neither of us knew the other was awake, so we laid there until it was about 7. We had a little argument about timing. Like always. I think he freaks because for once he’s not in control. I tell us when we need to be where and he doesn’t like being told what to do. That HAS to be it. It happens EVERY TRIP! I went out to the truck and waited on him to get his coffee. When he came back he apologized after a few minutes for being so stupid. (He had wanted to go get something to eat at perkins, and I said we didn’t have enough time to sit down and eat and get to MK for opening)

We got there with about 15 minutes to spare and stood and waited to be let in. We both shed a tear during the opening show because there was this adorable little girl in front of us. When the train showed up and she saw the characters she kept letting out this squeal, then the cutest laugh while she clapped her hands! We almost decided to forget our plans and follow them around all day so we could watch her. We headed first to Space Mountain, which we rode, then FP’d. Then we rode Buzz, which I whooped him on. He said it’s because he didn’t know the spots to hit, but I read them to him on the ride up the day before.

By then it was time to get in line for TSI. There were a lot of people on the raft, all of them were there for the paint brushes. We decided to just stay together and have fun and if we found on we found one. We took off towards the right. He was too slow looking in places I didn’t think it’d be. So I ended up losing him. Last time we went I saw one in the Fort Escape Tunnel. So this time I decided to check there again. There were people in the fort already, so I went to the tunnel exit and I found one on the ground right away! I ran back out and Chad was already on his way down the path. We decided to go through the tunnel and into the Fort. That escape tunnel is super cool! Once in the fort I did a little dance of victory! Then we decided to keep looking. Just to see if we could find more, not to point them out of take them. In our searching we passed all the people we were on the raft with. No one had a paintbrush. After going into all the play areas, all the paths, all the caves and not seeing anymore we decided maybe they only hid one this time? We passed the little boys who were also looking, they started to ask if we’d seen anymore brushes, but I cut him off and told him he could have ours. I figured we’d done it many times before and we were going to FP and ride BTM anyway and weren’t going anywhere near SPM in the cold…. So anyway, we gave it up and went back to the raft. No one had a paintbrush. I asked the CM how many they hid because we found one, and after not seeing anymore we gave it to some boys who were looking. He said 3 were hidden. (I don’t know where???) Then he said it was nice of us to give it away and he would give us a certificate anyway. When we got back he told us to wait for him. He went inside got us a certificate and since we had been so nice he also gave us a VIP pass for any ride we wanted. We rode BTM, then Pirates, then we went and got FP for buzz and then decided to go to the Poly for some lunch at Captain Ron’s. I had the Hawaiian Flatbread and he had the barbecue sandwich, we brought our food out by the pool and got a couple drinks from the pool bar. We sat there for a long time just enjoying the Poly, looking out over the lagoon at the MK. Our food was EXCELLENT! There were actually kids playing in the pool! I walked by, and reached my hand in the water, it was like a bath! Does that count as pool hopping? After sitting there for probably 30+ minutes I convinced him to rent a surrey bike. We had a blast peddling around. First we headed towards to wedding chapel to try and find the path we couldn’t find last time and then we went back to the other side of the resort. Then we switched up went all over again. While Chad drove he had us off roading, 2 wheeling and popping wheelies. It was so much fun! So much fun to remember how much we LOVE the Poly. So much in fact that Chad was willing to get a room there for the night. I however, am not willing to pay rack rate peak season for anything. We also tried 3 times while there to get dinner ressies at Ohana’s. Third times a charm. We scored 7:55. Which was perfect! We decided to head out after a few hours. On the walk to the TTC we passed a CM. She said, ”Aloha! Where are your wheels?” That’s what we LOVE about the Poly. People actually remember you! We took the monorail to Epcot and played the robot race game so we could make those plastic robots to bring home for the boys. I came in 4th, Chad came in 2nd. It was SO MUCH FUN! Except my shin splints were already bothering me from my stress test, so after that I was really hurting! We walked around WS then we headed back to MK. We did buzz again(I whopped him again and that time I even kept telling him what to shoot at.) and then we rode Space then we left for our dinner. It was sooooooooooooo good! That place is so much fun! We scored a table right by the window, so I could see the Electric Water Parade. After that we headed back to the hotel. It was so cold! I had my scarf around my whole face except for my eyes and my hands in my pockets. It was REALLY windy!

Sat. we got up early for the 8am opening at AK. We went into the Rainforest gift shop to enter the park that way. The doors were locked(going out to the turnstyles) I asked someone about them, he said the park wasn’t open yet. Yeah I know that! But it’s opening in 3 minutes! Hello?????? He left, then another person came by and said,”Are you waiting for the park to open?” I said,”Yeah” She said,”you know it doesn’t open until 9.” I said,”No, today it opens at 8” She left, I thought to check, she came back and started folding shirts, she never said anything else to us! A few minutes later someone opened the doors. Geez! You think they should know what time the park opens!

Chad went to do EE, I went into a shop to stay warm, I ended up talking to a CM for EVER! She was very sweet. Then Chad and I did Dinosaur 2x, then we went a ate breakfast at Tusker House. They have some JAM UP breakfast potatoes! Then we got FP for safari and walked through the exploration trail. Safari was okay, I wish it was all safari and no “Save little red”. So tacky. Then we went to Asia to walk that trail. Then we left and went to DTD. I stocked up at Basin, had a sundae and we left for home. We got home around 5. My sister was making dinner. The house was immaculate! Not a stitch of laundry, bathrooms cleaned, floors cleaned! I knew she’d have the house neat, but I didn’t expect her to wash the boys clothes, fold them AND put them away, I also didn’t expect her to vacuum! She is the best! They had spent the day playing outside with the boys. Their little wind burned faces showed! John(her DH) even tied up an old tire in a tree and made them a tire swing! They stayed and played some cards(because we weren’t expected home till 8 and my parents were celebrating their anniversary that night at home not expecting my sister to be back until 8. (My sis and her DH still live there, their house is being built right now. They did Habitat for Humanity) Their house is like 8 blocks away from us. Sucks though, it’s over like 3 canals(dried up) so to drive there it probably takes about 7+ minutes!

So that was our time. It was fun. It was nice to get away by ourselves. I’m glad we went over to the Poly and just spent time together. It was nice!

Happy Presidents Day!!!!

I think it started for Lincoln and Washington but now it is kind of for all the presidents. Anyway Nab's comment about Prime Minister day had me :rotfl:

MommyP- Thanks for the trip report!!!!! I enjoyed hearing about your trip. It does sound like you two had a lot of fun together.

I spent the morning uploading all my Disney pix from my most recent vacation. The kids and I watched them as a slide show. Little Twinkerbell said "I WISH I was there right now"... :cloud9: it was so sweet. I even went and checked out the DVC resale list before I remembered that DVC sucks. (TM Marita and DubbyaTee) Which is goog to remember because we are moving to a much more expensive housing market so I don't know when we will be back... DH would be easy to convince but somebody has to be the responsible one. :headache:

just keep a good piece of celery down ....popcorn::

Do you mean me?

Twinkie - I know what you mean about DVC. Everytime I get a flyer or an email from them I think about it all over again. But it makes NO SENSE FOR ME! I'm content staying at Pop. I like lots of mousekeeping. It would never be cost effective.
I still want it everytime though.

Marita - My boss won't let me work from home. He's too worried about other people abusing it. I even tried to bargain with him - I told him we'd trade - one hour of sick time for me working so I wouldn't be technically gone the whole two weeks. He said no. So I said fine. I'm relaxing the whole time.
Knowing I'll start checking emails soon.
It's already getting to me.
A whole week without checking my emails -
I probably have a million!

Hiya to everyone else.

I've spent most of my morning reading the JUICY hot locked thread on the CB...about BBBoutique. Let's JUST say there is ONE really mean pot stirrer. Oh MY!!!!! That thread couldn't be more OT if it started a Political or Racial debate.

I've read from this Pot Stirrer before and she LOVES the attention, apparently. First she makes a blatant rude statement putting the other DISsers on the defense. Then she slings around soap box style oppinions....then oppologizes if she MAY have caused hurt feelings....It truly bothers me that I love that stuff so much. JUST as long as I have NOTHING to do with the pot being stirred.

In the end, the other involved posters said she was a DIS Troll and that they had been had!

MommyP- I shall now read your mini-trippy :cheer2: YAY!!!!!

I had a hard time getting on today. To many on because of the holiday I guess.

UMA I know of the thread, I didn't know it was locked up. I commented on that one but not to the troll person. No snow here today.

MommyP your trip sounded great. Hope like the others that you get a little girl next. But you do have cute boys...

NAB I'm glad you said you, too, had been having trouble getting on. It has been very slow for me. I hit refresh and nothing happens for a couple minutes. I forgot that it was a holiday and more people may be online.

MommyP I enjoyed your mini trip report. It sounds like you have a fabulous time. Sometimes whirlwind trips can be the best!

MommyP and others - what's the secrets on Buzz lightyear? I've searched before but can't find the thread I need.

I've read it but not sure where. I was thinking UMA had it in her trip report. If not, she may know. If no one gets back to you with an answer, maybe PM her and ask.

There is a large volcano in the back of the first room on your right. (This room is actually divided into two sections, so take advantage of my ‘boxer’ tip above first!) As soon as you can get a good shot, begin aiming for the ‘Z’ target at the top of it. It shoots out steam every time someone hits it, and hopefully that will be you! It’s worth 25,000 points every time you do

This one’s difficult to explain, but I’ll try: One of the last rooms you encounter before the exit is a giant, round movie screen with flying space ships going back and forth over the exit archway. The main space ship seems to hesitate for a few seconds on each side of the archway before it zips back over to the other side.
Every time it hesitates on a side, aim for the center of it with your ray gun and keep shooting, even if it moves again. Whichever side you are more comfortable with, stick to it! The closer you get, the more you’ll be able to see the ‘ray gun counter’ thingy. Before you get to this room, look at the center of some of the close ‘Z’ targets and you’ll see this small square in the center of the target. That’s what you’re really shooting at and it’s what records that you have succeeded.
There is one of these on both sides of the archway, and they’re painted the same color as the wall to blend in. Look closely, though, and you will see them. Good luck! I’ve easily gotten another 150,000 points in this one room alone! You will see that he has the ‘Z’ targets all over him. Specifically, they are on the sides of his arms and boxing gloves. When you first enter the room you can see the targets on the right side of his right arm. Then you notice that there are some on the front of him as well. You can also see there are more targets on the right side of his left arm. As soon as you go past him, turn the car around so you can see the left side of his entire body and left arm. The ‘Z’ target on his left side of his left boxing glove is worth 100,000 points! Shoot away as many times as you can! You won’t have a lot of time!

From TGM. But I can share it with you because it's available at other internet sites. It's not TGM's secret. ;)

UMA - You cannot tell about a juicy thread unless you provide a link! You know how bad the search engine STINKS! ;)

MommyP, thanks for sharing your mini-trip report with us and the Buzz scoring tips! Glad you had a nice weekend away with your hubby.

I've been having a relaxing day off - sleeping in, watching my TiVoed episode of Brothers & Sisters with a little :laundy: mixed in. I'm going to head off to the pool for an exercise class shortly.

Celery, I have trouble not checking my work e-mail when I'm off, too. I figure it's easier to keep up with them if I'm feeling up to it. In fact, I'm going to go take a peek now!

It is going to storm or something......that is what my mom would say. My children came home from school like they have been eating candy all day.

It was hard even for them to behave at the dinner table. I think it will be an early bedtime tonight. Maybe I should throw them outside to wear off their energy.

Moo you sound like you are having a good day off.

I have never rode Buzz Lightyear. Hubby and DS do all the time. DD doesn't want to so we don't. We see it from the people mover but that is about it. Maybe I should try it out next time.
